Meet Robert Goodman of Box Brothers Corp. in Woodland Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Goodman.

Robert, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Started in 1985 with three-thousand dollars in Woodland Hills. The location was 500 sq. feet on Ventura Blvd. Our store was not able to store product so we had to leave it on the street. So at night, we would only have to put a little bit away. We were not able to keep inventory in such a small location so I decided to open with a partner a store in Van Nuys, Ca. Three months later in 1989. I opened another location in Sherman Oaks, Ca. Then in 1989, I proceeded to get franchising rights. That same year I divided not to sell franchises and sell grant licenses instead. I was up for Entrepreneur of the Year twice. Once in 1991 and another in year 2000. At the height, we had over 33 stores. I am the founder of the business but I haven’t run the stores in the last two due to getting a liver transplant. Our customers have been fortune five hundred companies, even celebrities, and politicians. We have shipped movie props, auction items, fine art, antique furniture, air looms, and odd ball items. And today we do international crating, and as well as logistic serves worldwide.

Has it been a smooth road?
In the late 1980s and well in the 2000s there was an economic downfall as well as having to change the way we do business and having to compete with big box stores and large crate companies.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Box Brothers Corp. – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I did marketing, networking, advertising, negotiating, and branding. In the two years I haven’t been able to work due to my liver transplant. I’m very proud of my hardworking employees there are a vital role to the company. Our convenient locations, and our great service is what sets Box Brothers Corp apart from others.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love LA because of the restaurants, our sports team, sunny weather, the beaches, the scenery, and our law enforcement.
