Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Gardner.
Robert, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Born and raised in the dirty south. I’ve always had a passion for creativity and self-expression growing up in Mississippi. Coming home from school, turning on the tv and seeing such an amazing city as Los Angeles motivated me. As I progressed through high school & College, I began to further my passion and broaden my skills for Fine Arts. Although I was slowly growing, I had trouble branching out and networking in Mississippi. I wanted to further my knowledge & move to a city that had more than enough tools to satisfy my creativity.
During my College years, I had a love interest that moved to Los Angeles. Myself as well as she, had convinced me that it was finally time to make that leap of faith. Unfortunately the relationship failed, but I was given something in return. I was given so many opportunities to expand and express myself creatively. I was given hope. I was given a chance to find who I am, want to be, & will be. Having lost my mother Nicole Gardner at a young age I owe it to her and myself to how far I’ve come and will accomplish.
Has it been a smooth road?
I can definitely say it has not been a smooth road. Moving from Mississippi to such a big city was intimidating, exhausting, & scary my first year. The expenses, the lifestyle, & adjustments all played a role on such a bumpy road thus far. It takes confidence, determination, ambition, and a whoooole lotta PATIENCE.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
As of now, I have my hand into acting, modeling, & creating fashion. I’ve recently created a clothing brand called “Better In Black”. It’s been in the works for two years. Due to unfortunate events as well as my acting career I put the brand on hold to focus on other BIG opportunities that were presented to me. Better in Black WILL RETURN SPRING 2020! I Promise!!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Honestly, who knows what will happen in the next 5-10 years. At the moment I have so many career opportunities, it’s very hard to say where I’ll end up.
