Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Centeno.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Robert. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I started Maliceous Skates co. about seven years ago after interning for another brand in Downtown LA. Noticing how much potential and creativity I had within me, I came to the point of realization that if I can do this for others, why can’t I do this for myself with the love and passion I have for Skateboarding.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been some highs and some lows in the Life of Maliceous Skates co. I feel like every product that has been produced is an accomplishment in itself. Seeing people wear and skate the goods is high in itself. The struggles and challenges in the life of Maliceous Skates co. have been learning from trial and error. Moves that didn’t follow through on either end, relationships that might have been lost or gained. Ultimately I understand it’s all part of God’s plan to weave in the necessary and weave out the unnecessary.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Maliceous Skates co. – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Maliceous Skates co. is a grassroots company that produces skate decks and apparel. The brand is all about giving back, leading by example, having fun skating while looking fresh in the gear. We’ve hosted a couple of toys drives in the span of the company. We’ve been able to give back to the inner city youth with the help of friends of mine in the industry.
A couple of items Maliceous Skates co. Is known for:
1.) Hermès skate deck collaboration I did with Aint Shit Funny (Joshton Peas).
2.) Justin Bieber is wearing the Red MLCS co. Beanie twice in the eyes of the Paparazzi.
3.) Cap’n Crunchy skate deck which was the first ever design to be put out by Maliceous Skates co.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I want to continue doing what I love and produce more skate decks and apparel that anyone can use. I hope to film a lot more visuals and add some new team riders to the squad. I leave it all in God’s hands after that.
