Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Herrera.
Rob, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Front Row Live Ent. is my rebrand of PUNKVIDEOSROCK. I first started PUNKVIDEOSROCK in 2006 as a way to work with my favorite bands (i.e., New Found Glory, The Used, Tom Delonge, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Warped Tour…) In the beginning, I produced acoustic sessions and live videos for bands that toured through LA, Hollywood, Pasadena, Upland and Anaheim. In 2007, a small label invited me to Warped tour to shoot their bands and that pretty much opened every door into the music scene. In 2008 I began giving interviews a shot. It was uncomfortable and I hated seeing myself on camera but for some reason, I wanted to only do them if I was on camera with the artists. Fast forward to 2011, I had gotten very comfortable on camera and had already interviewed a majority of the bands in the scene. I wanted to expand and be able to interview all genres so I created Front Row Live Ent and experienced everything from my first red carpets to my first high profile celebrity interviews, Movie junkets and now majority of my focus is discovering new artists and hearing about their story and creative process.
Has it been a smooth road?
This dream has been far from a smooth process. It’s involved a lot of follow up emails, a lot of proving yourself, a lot of rejections and this is pretty much my labor of love because it definitely does not pay the bills. One of my main struggles lately is that over the years I have made great relationships with some artists because I’ve been there with them since their first few interviews and now that they are big, their new publicists/teams have rejected my requests but I know that if they had relayed my request to the artist, they would most likely say yes.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Front Row Live Ent. is my music outlet where I host on-camera interviews with my favorite new and established artists. I love hearing about the creative process and the challenges faced in doing so. I’m proud of being able to interview artists when they aren’t known and watching them take over the world years later.
I’d also like to point out this is not a music blog to get your news from, it’s a YouTube channel were I feature in-depth music interviews with artists of all genres.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Hollywood and LA is the center of music and entertainment. There is always a show, new music and new artists forming. It’s probably the best place for my outlet and my interviews.
