Meet Rin Tanaka of Rin Studios in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rin Tanaka.

Rin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have moved to San Clemente Since 1998 and started my self-publishing business in 2003. My business is to edit, write and being a photographer. Yes, I can do everything like a ONE0-MAN band player. Around 2008, when I published my 20th title, I started planning the small party. That was an original concept of my vintage clothing show “Inspiration.” My first show was held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA February of 2010.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
NO. More audience than I expected visited my show: around 3000 people. So, I had to organize this SHOW, because I required huge “set-up costs” for thousands audience, although I wanted to keep this event “secret”.
Fortunately, so many friends from worldwide have been supported this event. This is the reason why Inspiration show will be the 10th anniversary next February!

Rin Studios LLC – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business? Publishing: editing, writing and photography. Now, I am editing the new book about WESCO BOOTS 100th anniversary. Yes, my business is more “fashion historian” who is working for very old American companies.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I don’t think I have been walking “successful ways” in last 20 years… but I have been always enjoying every day with many unique friends!
