Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhandy Torres.
Hi Rhandy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Early on, I focused on training, saying yes to opportunities, and learning on set, short films, indie projects, and roles that allowed me to grow and understand the craft from the inside out. Along the way, I balanced acting with a full-time career outside the industry, which taught me discipline, time management, and humility. That balance has shaped how I approach my work: prepared, grateful, and collaborative.
Over time, I’ve had the opportunity to work on meaningful independent films, collaborate with talented directors and creatives, and play characters that carry emotional weight and cultural significance. Each project has helped refine my voice as an actor and deepen my love for the process.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road, but overall it’s been a positive and rewarding journey. Coming into acting from a non-traditional path meant learning how to balance time, work, and family while staying committed to the craft.
There were the usual challenges, rejection, slow periods, and finding my footing but each experience helped sharpen my focus and strengthen my confidence. Those moments pushed me to stay prepared, patient, and open to growth.
It also helps having my family as my greatest inspiration, especially my kids, Isabela and Ethan. They keep me grounded, focused, and remind me why I show up every day.
Looking back, the obstacles were necessary. They shaped my work ethic and deepened my appreciation for the process, and they continue to motivate me as I move forward with clarity and purpose.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an actor and creative who focuses on grounded, character-driven storytelling. I’m drawn to roles that carry emotional depth, cultural nuance, and humanity, characters that feel lived-in rather than performed. Much of my work has been in independent film, where collaboration, trust, and authenticity are essential.
I’m most proud of the body of work I’ve built through consistency and intention. I’ve had the opportunity to be part of meaningful projects that resonate with audiences, especially stories that reflect underrepresented perspectives and real-life experiences. Each role has pushed me to grow not just as an actor, but as a storyteller.
What sets me apart is my life experience and work ethic. Coming from a non-traditional path, I bring discipline, preparation, and gratitude to every set. I value collaboration, I respect the process, and I show up ready to serve the story. That combination of lived experience and commitment to the craft informs everything I do.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Consistency. More than talent or momentum, consistency has been essential to my success. Showing up prepared, staying committed, and continuing to do the work even when no one is watching has made the biggest difference in my growth.
Studying and applying the Chubbuck technique taught me how to approach every role with intention, emotional truth, and a clear objective. That discipline pushed me to do deeper work, not just on set, but long before the camera rolls.
Consistency keeps me grounded, sharp, and open to opportunity. It’s allowed me to build trust with collaborators and steadily develop my craft over time.
