Meet Rex Balbuena of Synergy Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rex Balbuena. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Rex aka DJ Wrex has always been surrounded by a musical presence with a strong background in various musical instruments, starting with the piano at age four moving onto the trumpet, guitar, and the drums eventually leading to the turntables. DJ Wrex has performed all over the country in Hollywood, Las Vegas, Austin, San Francisco and Cancun. He has opened for Busta Rhymes, D12, LMFAO, Pete Rock, Tech N9ne, Pitbull, Talib Kweli, Little Brother, The Pharcyde, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony & The Wutang Clan and has also graced the airwaves on KPWR 106 FM in Los Angeles on the World Famous Wake Up Show.

Rex has been hosting weddings, providing top-notch DJ and MC services for many happy couples over the past 10 years as well as designing custom mixes catered to bring your special event to life and leave your guests talking about it for years to come.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely isn’t easy being a small business and entrepreneur. Being able to do what you love and balance raising a family while maintaining the business is a feat on its own.

Synergy Events is a DJ and Lighting company based in Los Angeles, Ca. with over 20 years of experience. We serve the Southern California Area and love to travel. We are music lovers, music historians and music experts. We are crowd and energy readers and focus on moving the crowd with seamless mixes and music selections. Synergy Events is here to share their skills and knowledge to bring you and your guests the most authentic and high-vibe events. Our goal is to ensure the quality and experience of our clients far exceed their expectations while leaving their guests raving for years to come.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If you are starting out in the business, meet with others DJ’s and event professionals to get a feel for the industry and build relationships. Know your audience and client, their musical tastes and their age range. Most importantly be prepared and show up early.
