Today we’d like to introduce you to Renee’ Wolfe.
Renee’, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always have had a passion for fashion since the age of 17. Before 17, I was a complete tomboy. Baggy jeans, oversized T-shirts and sneakers lol and I hated doing my hair. My mother was really heavy in the fashion world. She loves and lives for nice beautiful clothing and also has her own boutique. I grew up seeing her selling clothes and matching outfits. As I got older, I realized how much I enjoyed dressing up versus when I was a kid. Fast Forward to 2019, I’m a single mother of two toddlers and had a shopping problem lol I loved looking for bargains and sales! I soon realized my closet was over flooding with clothes and as the year went by I began to wonder where the heck I was going to wear any of it too lol… I didn’t go out much and here I am with all these beautiful dresses… so I went online to see where I could sell my clothing and I found an app called Mercari.. it was slow at first but then boom I was selling everything in my closet and making cash while doing it… I was hooked! People really loved my style and then it hit me, close to the end of 2019 I thought hey why don’t I start my own swimsuit line… I searched everywhere for vendors, suppliers, etc. and it was so hard to do and very frustrating looking for the right items.
Fast forward, I’m almost ready to get my items and start my business and then boom Covid-19 shuts everything down! I was sooo heartbroken and frustrated… orders had to get canceled, refunds, disputes I had with suppliers overseas. It was a total nightmare and I lost money… I was sooo ready to give up and just forget the whole thing… one-day I went to an old store to get something o don’t really remember what it was but as I was walking I looked over and saw this beautiful see through black and gold dress! And it was like a fireworks were going off in the sky and it hit me forget swimsuits I’m getting this dress!! This is the dress that will launch my online clothing boutique! And the rest is history!! My boutique launched July 1st and it’s been the best and most rewarding four months ever so far!! My style is sexy, chill and perfect everyday wear! I’m so happy and couldn’t be more happy when my customers take pictures and tell how much they love their items! I know that I have more to learn about the business but I’m ready for whatever may lay ahead!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The beginning was struggle… Covid19 changed a lot! I lost out on money. It was kind of hard thinking of the name of my boutique..my middle name is Renee’ and I always said that if I were an animal, it would be a wolf. I’ve always looked at myself as she wolf so that was the name I was gonna go with. It’s been smooth now that the boutique is up and running and I pray it stays that way, lol.
Please tell us about TheSheWolfeCollection.
I help design my clothes but I plan to get a lot more in depth on that part… I specialize in sexy and comfy clothing… as a mom you kind of forget that you were a woman before having kids. My clothing line is made for all women to feel sexy in a beautiful dress or one piece but still be able to wear an oversized hoodie and feel comfortable! I’m very proud at how my business is growing and more customers are ordering from me. It makes me so happy that I didn’t give up and that even though I had to change my plans, the goal remained the same!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory as a child was band, lol! I was a trumpet player! A straight band nerd! I played trumpet all day! Band was my life! Our school Whitehaven high was the best band ever! Hands down! We use to play all over the south and won a lot of competitions!! It was a good time for sure.
