Today we’d like to introduce you to Renee Davies.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My very good friend Heather Jaeger founded CutiePaws Pet Sitting Services in Atlanta, GA in 2008. Heather and I met in 2012 when she became my pet sitter.
I am a long distance runner. At the time that I met Heather, I had two older labs who were no longer able to run with me. I suggested for her pet sitting business, if she had dogs who could use the exercise, I’d be available!
I started running with a sweet cocker spaniel who was working on her beach body. I really enjoyed the relationship created with the pets and the owners as I accepted more and more pet sitting assignments.
I’ve met many great people, and as part of the CutiePaws team in 2015 we were voted “Best in Atlanta!”
In the spring of 2015, seeking sunny skies and ocean breezes, my husband and I moved to Orange County.
I’ve recently started CutiePawsOC, servicing Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach and Newport Beach.
Has it been a smooth road?
I’ve been fortunate to have really great support. Setting up the website, Facebook page – all of that is fun, but time consuming! With social media, there is so much available that it can become overwhelming.
The fun part is having the opportunity to talk about the business. I enjoy making connections in my community, as I still feel like I’m a ‘new kid in town’!
I can appreciate other dog walking services and what they offer, but CutiePawsOC is really about establishing relationships with people and their fur-kids.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with CutiePawsOC Pet Sitting Services – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I completely recognize that people love their pets as their children, and in my own way, I take care of the pet parent as well! I understand how important the connection is with pets, and I do my very best to alleviate any anxiety that someone may have while away by maintaining the pet’s routine as best as possible.
Whether it’s a new puppy, long work hours, a business trip or vacation, I am available to service in-home pet care needs: daily dog walks, vacation sits, new puppy breaks and overnights.
I am a reliable, experienced pet caretaker and a lifelong animal lover. I am able to provide specialized service to those pets with special needs and senior pets: administer medications, injections, provide subcutaneous fluids, deaf and/or blind, epileptic, just to name a few.
I am also working to establish relationships with veterinarian hospitals, doctors, and vet technicians.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the ocean! I love the sunshine!
I live in Costa Mesa, and in the summer on Tuesday nights, our neighborhood gathers at Fairview Park for concerts in the park.
I enjoying seeing my neighbors walking their dogs, and I love walking mine over to Vista Park, overlooking Huntington Beach to see the sunset in the evenings.
I wasn’t really crazy about the excessive fireworks on the 4th of July this year… I honestly haven’t found much that I don’t like living in Orange County. Sometimes traffic, I suppose.
Road trips to LA, San Diego, baseball games – I’m enjoying the CA life.
