Today we’d like to introduce you to Renee ChaCha.
Renee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Catch Th3 Frequency began in 2020. In the midst of Covid 19, I wanted to begin something that spoke to how we were feeling and something that would brighten one’s day and also be FOR the community. Since then, Catch Th3 Frequency has grown from not just an apparel brand, but a brand with a purpose to serve the community of Inglewood and its neighboring communities with positive vibes, and curated collections that speak to the black experience.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to creating a brand has not been smooth and is by no means done. Catch Th3 Frequency has not even begun to scratch the surface of what we are capable of. The biggest hurdle has been resources. As a black-owned business and the first of its type in my family, there have been many lessons to be learned. Generally speaking, POC are not afforded the same resources in regard to information, and finances, etc. Due to this, CTF has been so grateful to have established great connections with fellow entrepreneurs who have aided in providing information that has been new for our business.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a performing artist, my role as Founder and CEO of Catch Th3 Frequency has been one in which I get to continue to be a creative. Catch Th3 Frequency is a hand-crafted tie-dye apparel brand, and because of that, each piece is unique and not one piece looks exactly the same. Catch Th3 Frequency is unique, as we hand design each piece, curate collections specific to the black experience and represented on tees and are family driven. At CTF, most of our pieces are inspired by personal experiences and help connect to our audience on a wider scale. We create designs representing Black History Month, designs celebrating Belizean heritage and even collections inspired by women in our life, “th3 queen.” Our attention to detail can be seen in our packaging and our messaging. CTF is not only for the community but can be seen in the community giving back to our schools, the unhoused and our high schools through drives, and scholarships.
