Meet Regina Williams of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Regina Williams

Hi Regina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey started as a young girl dancing in front of a mirror and my family asked me to perform for them regularly. I was involved in pageants and won several titles. One of them was Miss Talented Teens of New Jersey which brought me to California for the national pageant. I was a finalist in that contest and met The Jacksons. I decided to apply to colleges in California, 5,000 miles away from my family in New Jersey, and decided to attend, Alliant International University in San Diego. I graduated with a degree in Musical Theatre. After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles and started doing national commercials. I was teaching dance at the time and shortly after decided to open my dance studio, Regina’s Studio of Performing Arts. The focus was ages 6 to 18 with some adult classes. Regina’s Studio of Performing Arts was the first dance studio in the country to teach Hip-Hop dance. This venture took me on a journey to set choreography for artists such as Jeffory Osbourne, The Arsenio Hall Show, The BBD Tour, The Johnny Gill Tour, The Jacksons, and Monique along with many TV shows. After I closed my studio, I decided to focus on my acting career. Today, I have three partners and we have a production company focusing on reality TV and movies. We produced our first Reality TV show in 2014 entitled Got Game. Currently, our roaster has over thirty reality TV shows, four television shows, and several movies waiting to be produced.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey as an artist has been interesting. The hard part for me is not booking any TV or film projects lately. It has been difficult to find a good Theratrcial agent to assist with getting me in the door. But I’ve decided to continue to study my craft by staying in acting classes and soon that door will open.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My goal is to be a great actress/producer. I’m an actress with the skill set to put projects together. I don’t have national success but I won a Telly Award for hosting a Television Special entitled “Image” for Children’s Hospital in 2009. I also was honored to create one of the best moments in BET history with the opening number for The BET Awards with Monique.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I currently have a great team of people. I am in search of a production company to partner with to get some of our projects done.
