Meet Reena Rani

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reena Rani.

Reena, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
There was this point in my life when I really wanted to push myself to being fully occupied. Being on stage, participating in the extracurricular activities, arts and crafts has always been my strength and that’s something I am very passionate about and I love doing that. I wanted to do something where my passion is involved not from the career perspective but for self-satisfaction and to feel content at the end of the day.

At the same time when I walked into sakshi’s dreams collections in artesia for shopping, they asked if I would like to walk the runway for them in their upcoming show! That’s when my modeling journey has started.

After my very first show, I loved playing dress up, getting glam up by amazing artists, walking the runway. I began to take modeling a tad bit more seriously and started exploring opportunities on shows as well as photoshoots.

I started making connections, doing collaborations, approaching brands by writing to them, working with various designers, makeup artists and building my portfolio, led me into more opportunities over a period of time. The best thing is there is always learning, experience and exposure in this industry which helped me alot and shaped as a person who I am today.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road. Modeling is a business, and as a model, you are your own business! Like any business, it does take a lot of time, effort, commitment, preparation, and patience to be one. There will be more rejections than acceptance. As long as we learn to overcome rejections and not give up, eventually things does get better. It’s just a fact of the business. There are people who still filter based on marital status/age/height etc. But there are tons of artists who look for talents. So I tend to stick to my goal and connect with right people.

Please tell us about Reena Rani.
I am a software engineer by profession and I do modelling for passion. I do work with designer couture, makeup artists, photographers, and as an influencer for ad. I am specialized in runway model, print model, lookbook model and commercial model. I am proud of how well my experience and exposure helps me as a person not only in the industry but as well as in my personal life. One of many things that makes me unique from others is the confidence and fierce look that I carry in front of the camera with good attitude.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
As a new model when I started my journey, I would grab any and every opportunity that comes across. If I had to start over, I probably would like to filter those opportunities wisely and would want to choose with whom I will be working keeping my portfolio in mind. Also, as they say, “real women fix each other’s crowns” like we struggle to grow in any industry, there is always counterparts who is looking to grow as well say any new business or startup. I would probably work with them at first and grow together!.
