Meet Rebecca Federico of Soul Resurrection Massage in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Federico.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a young child, I had the influence of a healer in my life but I did not realize that her influence was what I wanted to become as well.

One day during one of her sessions, I was about five I was being sneaky and I peaked in on their session and I see what she was doing to the person, I then became Intrigued as to what I was seeing. I watched her every movement and knew that she was helping the person on the table, when they left all I could remember was “massage face” lol. When someone has what we call “massage face” you know they’ve had a great massage session!

As I grew up I always knew that my duty here was a PRIVILAGE. It was a privilege to assist in someone else’s healing.

In high school, I took a physical therapy program but once graduated I didn’t pursue it.

When I was about 22/23 I moved it of my home town and landed in Long Beach. I didn’t have a plan, all I knew is I had to challenge myself big. So I did, I enrolled in a trade college called Charter.

They had the best massage program that I knew about at the time. The instructor really changed my life. When I enrolled I was going through some tough times and she made sure that I stuck to my goals.

Her name was Nayelli. She taught me everything she knew, she told me when I walked in her class that day that I was meant to be there. She gave me a glimpse of hope in myself that I had lost. She helped me remember my goals.

After I regained confidence I started to focus again, then I just took everything I knew and applied it.

The name Soul Resurrection Massage was conceived in that classroom. I knew I had a greater purpose than just massage. I began learning about “energy” work. I realized how much it could enhance my massage work so I began to focus on that as well. Once I graduated I had my first job at a chiropractic office, I worked side by side with the Dr with clinical massage, relaxation massage and rehabilitative massage. I moved on to another chiropractic office once I knew I had learned all that I needed at the first office.

Working for someone was not the goal I had for myself, I knew I had to have the experience if I ever wanted to branch out on my own. So I eventually left that office.

I began house calls to build my clientele, did that for about 5 years while also working at a spa. I didn’t want to work for someone else again but I knew that I had to for the experience if I wanted to be successful on my own.

That job lasted about a year and a half. Until one day I couldn’t stand working another dream anymore. So, I quit. Put my two weeks in and posted an add on social media seeking a room to rent.

Within a couple days (literally) I had found a potential room to rent. The following week I met up with the owner and made a deal. The first 6 months were extremely stressful because I was anxious about having “regulars”. Once I began putting myself out there and meeting people the doors of opportunities just flourished.

It was the best decision I have ever made! All the work that I had been doing for the past 5 years were paying off. I have had the opportunity to work with a few high status clients that have heard of Soul Resurrection. I was very surprised but knew that it all my hard work was reaching people that I couldn’t fathom at the beginning of it all.

The meaning behind Soul Resurrection is not just reviving your muscles. I love to work through energy, which some call “reiki”. The energetic level we as humans have, is crucial to have worked on and worked with. Soul Resurrection is much more than your “feel good” therapy.

Soul Resurrection Massage literally means to revive and resurrect your inner being (who we are) by utilizing soft tissue/deep tissue manipulation and tapping into the clients’ energy level to assist in unblocking emotional issues that can be causing physical discomfort.

It is my goal and lifelong mission to assist as many folks as possible who want to avoid using pharmaceutical drugs and surgery.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Confidence in myself played a big role in the early years of my career. I didn’t believe in myself.

There were a couple instances where I was extremely uncomfortable around the bosses I had. I took the situation and seen them as lessons. I told myself “when I’m the CEO of my company and I have employees, I will never put them through some of the things I’ve encountered.”

Soul Resurrection Massage – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am known for many things. Now I am becoming known as the HEALER or HEALER BEX. With every session, I utilize energy work to assist in determining the underlying factors to the problematic areas within the body.

I use many differing healing therapies.

Massage, cupping, guasha, sound therapy, meditation, tapping.

I also utilize Tarot Cards and Runes (if the client is comfortable, if they are not I do not mention it).

I am most proud of the fact that I never gave up, I have created a name for myself that people recognize and know exactly what I do. That in itself speaks wonders.

Honestly the name sets me apart from others. It’s intriguing it makes the client want to know “why.”

Along with my work of course. lol

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Proudest moment is when I had a Celeb tell me, “as many massage was I’ve had, you beat them all. I’m talking Hollywood status massage people. ”

I was blown away honestly, I love what I do and it shows.

I can testify that “Healer Bex” can read you mind, body and soul. She knows right where she needs to go to work on what is blocking you. I do both the Massage and Reiki therapy. I had a real bad injury and am receiving Physical Therapy through my company. My progress was good but I felt I needed more or a sports therapist that got in and did deep tissue massage as well. I was introduced to Bex and not only has she sped up the process of healing she is working on the mental stress I had bottled up. The Universe works in mysterious ways, I’m just glad it let me to Bex.
