Meet Raymond Magno of Eco Bear Bio Hazard Cleaning Service in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raymond Magno.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I got my start in detailed cleaning while in boot camp for the US Coast Guard. Semper Paratus is the Coast Guard motto (always ready) and it was something that stuck with me throughout the years. I started my first cleaning business over 25 years ago to earn extra money on weekends. I realized back then that I actually didn’t mind cleaning up other people’s messes. During my time in the Coast Guard, I also realized that I love to be on the ocean and decided to move to Alaska to be a commercial fisherman.

After about 15 years of following my dream as an Alaska fisherman, I met my wife who is from Los Angeles and decided to put away my extra tuffs and move to LA.

My wife is the marketing and website guru for the business as well as secretary, accountant, and overall best partner a guy could ever want.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think the hardest thing we have had to deal with is the juggling of schedules since the birth of our son who is going on 17 months. Other than that, it’s been a relatively smooth ride, so far.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Eco Bear Bio-Hazard Cleaning Service story. Tell us more about the business.
Eco Bear is family owned and operated, located in Studio City serving all of Southern California with expert crime scene cleanup, biohazard removal and remediation. We love our community where we have made a home and built strong and long lasting ties.

When tragedy strikes in our backyard we feel it too and we are ready to help immediately.

Many companies that offer similar services here in L.A. are based outside of California and cannot provide the same personal touch.

We are fully prepared to help people through some of the most difficult times in their life’s. We act as a buffer between the client and the tragedy, professionally performing all necessary cleaning of bio hazardous material.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
My wife and I are lucky to live in a large market such as Los Angeles. Opportunities are endless here in Southern California if you are willing to work hard and “always be ready” for any hurdles that will inevitably come.
