Meet Randi Ruela of Inner Qi Wellness Center in Riverside County – Corona

Today we’d like to introduce you to Randi Ruela.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
A transplant from Pittsburgh, PA, I have been living in California for over ten years after moving here to attend the Southern California University of Health Sciences, where I completed dual Doctorate and Master’s degrees in Chiropractic and Acupuncture respectively. While studying at university, I met my husband who is also an acupuncturist and working with the school at that time. We married in 2011 and later opened Inner Qi (pronounced Inner Chee) in 2015.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road! Navigating the dynamics of our relationship AND a business posed its own challenges. On top of that, our finances looked like we had both just graduated college, which is to say they were unimpressive. So for us, just opening was a struggle. In 2015 we were lucky to cross paths with a colleague who owned a chiropractic office in Corona but needed to move back to her hometown. She wanted someone to take over her practice and, help it to grow and believed we were the perfect couple to do just that. She was willing to take payments for the purchase over several years and in the process, gave us a huge opportunity to own a practice and become business owners and entrepreneurs. Since the beginning of Inner Qi’s journey, we have struggled through three location moves, a global pandemic and the birth of our daughter, Amelia, on July 13th.

Inner Qi Wellness Center – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a wellness center offering Chiropractic, Acupuncture and Massage Therapy Services. Alongside our standard services, our office specializes in pain and musculoskeletal conditions ranging from arthritis to repetitive use and athletic injuries. We are known for customized approaches specifically designed for each of our clients and amazing collaborations among our providers. Additionally, our drive to resolve any issues for our clients quickly and efficiently allow us to achieve incredible results and positive outcomes. We focus on helping to facilitate healing in our patients so that they can continue their daily lives feeling refreshed and refreshed, not tired and aching. As much as we enjoy their visits and they enjoy our office, they have better places to be. This is what sets us apart from other offices.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far was my recent (2020) recognition from the Corona Chamber of Commerce as one of Corona’s Top 30 Professionals under 40.
