Today we’d like to introduce you to Ram Dettmer.
Ram, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was always into building things, but I never thought I would get into programming. I had minimal knowledge of computers or websites back in High School. I didn’t even know what a browser was… I just knew what to click and how to use it.
After graduating High School, my brother reached out to me to help him build a website, and after telling him I had no experience, he told me to install a theme I liked. Of course, being a perfectionist… none of it stood out, so I figured why not try to build my own.
Eventually, my curiosity grew as I started learning to code websites… fast forward a year and I’m learning app development.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road… I went through months of quitting — both my web design business and coding skills to try to understand it even more.
Which eventually forced me to try easier alternatives to web design… which was relying on website builders.
After not liking the limitations it posed, I moved back into the web development field and focused on providing custom-coded websites. Then, after seeing huge improvements between the two, I started offering my services differently than most agencies that relied on website builders.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Hungry Ram is a web design company that just recently expanded as an agency to offer complete digital marketing services.
We’re known for our custom web developments using modern technologies that have been adopted by large companies. We market our website as high-performance, secure, and scalable… meaning as their business grows, we can adapt their new business models and software without relying on third-party plugins.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Relating to how I got into the business… as a child, I was always building things, advanced lego robotics, erector sets, and a few others. I even went into robotics class to learn engineering. I always felt accomplished whenever I complete putting together things.
