Today we’d like to introduce you to Raimondo Boggia.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started the first Obica Mozzarella Bar Pizza e Cucina in September 2010 and now we have 5 locations open in the US, of which 3 are in Los Angeles and 2 in Manhattan, NY.
The second location in Los Angeles was the one in Santa Monica, on Broadway and 6th street.
The third opened a year ago on Sunset Plaza, and it has a dramatic view of Los Angeles in the back balcony and a great Patio on the strip of Sunset.
I love providing the best food & wine experience to our guest that are usually lovers of Italian food, wines and culture.
Has it been a smooth road?
No business is easy but with the right plan and the focus on hiring the right resources results are a natural consequence.
Anyway, the challenge is the scarcity of professionals that want to really work for the Hospitality Industry. In Los Angeles, everyone wants to belong to the entertainment industry and just a few want to be professional in the Hospitality Industry.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Obica Mozzarella Bar Pizza e Cucina – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Obica is known for bringing the freshest mozzarella di bufala, many typical Italian ingredients and the Food to Share concept to many of the world’s prominent cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Rome, Milan, Tokyo.
As a managing partner and an entrepreneur, with a deep knowledge of food and wines of the world, I brought my skills at the service of the expansion of Obica Mozzarella Bar Pizza e Cucina in the Unites States.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like the bright sky, the mild temperature, the dry weather, the frequent breeze, the feeling of suspension, like in a permanent vacation.
Generally speaking, (it doesn’t apply to all, of course) I do not like how many people are spoiled and feel entitled to everything, like living in Paradise was a given. There is a lack of humility, awareness and gratefulness that reminds me –everyday– we are just on Earth!
