Meet Rachel Reyes-Bergano of Contempo Aesthetics in Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Reyes-Bergano.

Rachel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Since a young age, I have always been fascinated by beauty and cosmetics. Sneaking into my mom’s cosmetic bag at 5 years old became all too typical! During my preteen years, I tried out nearly every mask available at the pharmacy’s cosmetic aisle.

Then during high school, my sister pointed out that my interest in science and compassion in working with people (I was active with our local Rotary Club), I might consider a career as a Doctor.

Much later in life, I combined all three of these passions into a career that would help build mine & my husband’s family business.

Has it been a smooth road?
I didn’t think I was smart enough or had the grades, but perseverance takes you further than one could imagine. The road to a career in Medicine is a long one and never in my wildest dreams did I think I would own my own medical practice!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Contempo Aesthetics – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My husband and I started Contempo Aesthetics in July of 2015 with a very small budget but we figured we would keep overhead low by working out of the family medicine office that had hired me part time. I specialize in Aesthetic Medicine, which includes the use of non-surgical cosmetic procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, and laser. These tools help me to bring out the best version of my clients. I am most proud of how our client’s trust in my ability and word of mouth has helped us grow more than any advertising. We say Contempo Aesthetics is a “modern medical aesthetics boutique.” What sets us apart is the detail we take with each client experience, start to finish. We take our time listening to client needs, concerns, and aesthetic goals.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the diversity and uniqueness of Los Angeles. Each neighborhood offers a different flavor and feel. For my husband and I, Pasadena drew us in with its charm. Los Angeles is still a growing city, laying its roots and establishing its signature events and draws. It’s fascinating to think about what Los Angeles will look like in five, ten, twenty years!
