Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel and Gabriel Newman.
Incomparably beautiful, identical twin sisters RACHEL AND GABRIEL NEWMAN are from the south side of Chicago, currently living in Los Angeles CA. The two sisters go by their duet name Namirajj. They both opened their own company in 2013 under the name Namirajj Entertainment to help navigate their careers as artists in the music industry. Namirajj are Contemporary Christian singers, actresses and models. Namirajj also started Newman’s Official Wear (NOW Collection). NOW Collection is a faith-based athletic apparel company launched on April 26, 2019, www.nowcollectionstore.com. They have been singing since the tender age of seven, appearing in numerous television commercials, stage plays, films, as well as doing voiceover spots for radio. Although they are twins a performing duo, they each have their own distinct personality and style, which contribute to their captivating sound, performance style and in their songwriting collaborations.
Rachel is a sultry alto with Neo-soul influences. She is fun-loving, athletic and enjoys designing clothes and loves playing the piano. Gabriel is a melodic soprano that has soulful overtones with an R&B influence. She is outgoing as well as athletic and loves playing the guitar. These beautiful, young women are skilled choreographers and hip-hop dancers. They have studied (jazz, ballet, modern and hip hop) at Columbia College with conjunction with Gallery 37 Downtown Chicago. They made a cameo appearance in the movie “Roll Bounce” starring Bow Wow. Other performance credits include 2nd Annual Teen Summit, an enrichment and motivational seminar produced by Patricia Houston, Whitney Houston’s Executive Manager. Namirajj shared the stage with the gospel’s own Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell, Cissy Houston and movie producer Debra Chase Martin.
Namirajj was announced first place winners for the Dwyane Wade “Chicago has Talent Showcase”. Namirajj was on NBC’s summer’s New Hit singing competition called “The Winner Is”executive producers from “The Voice”. In 2017 Namirajj was featured on “The HARRY Show” on Fox. Namirajj was also on the summer show with Mario Lopez called “CANDY CRUSH” on CBS. Recently they booked a National Citi Bank Commercial. In addition to their talent and beauty, Rachel and Gabriel serve as mentors and peer advocate leaders where they have been often called upon to speak at schools and churches promoting education, literacy, positive life skills and teen abstention awareness.
They continue to set the standard for young people in their conduct and professional demeanor as Christian Pop/Rock Artist. Their music is a reflection of their spirituality and commitment to make a difference in the industry as well as the lives of their peers. Namirajj New Single “Running To You” is now available on iTunes and Google Play. Whenever they grace the stage, they bring a touch of class, flavor, and anointing. When you see them you might think it’s a mirage, but it’s really indeed, a dynamic duo better known as Namirajj.
Has it been a smooth road?
As a singer/actress/entrepreneur our road has not been easy as independent artist. We have been blessed to accomplish a lot with the tenacity and determination to see our brand and our careers come full circle. However, some of the struggle as Independent christian artist is the platforms and the inconsistency of the entertainment industry, but the industry is shifting. Which is a great thing for us and Christian artist. Nevertheless, with my twin sister we can get through any hardship. We’ve learned to challenge each other to keep the momentum and trust the process. We are blessed to know some doors wasn’t the doors we needed to walkthrough. Success is a journey not a destination, we continue to remind ourselves that “the best is yet to come.”

Namirajj Entertainment is a media company that helps facilitate our careers as singers, actresses, musicians and entrepreneurs. Our goal is to give independent artist a platform once we are established to provide opportunities for other artist. We will produce movies, TV shows and music under Namirajj Entertainment. Newman’s Official Wear is a faith-based clothing line. Which is our merchandise brand. We are providing millennials with comfortable, unique athletic sportswear.
We have merged denim and activewear together with high-performance materials for your everyday workout or your trip to the store. We are excited about our journey. However, we are very proud of everything that we went through moving from Chicago to Los Angeles with one months of rent and a one way ticket to California. The one thing we knew for sure is that we were not returning back to Chicago. God sustained us in this town. I’m proud of us both, we came a long way. It has been NINE years. We are looking forward to another decade of accomplishments. What sets us apart from everyone else is our genuine compassion to create change, to see other people grow and succeed in life. My sister and I are selfless. We believe that we all here to fulfill our God given purpose.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What we like best about our city is, the melting pot of different cultures. People from all walks of life stays in Los Angeles. Of course the weather and opportunities. We like the food trucks. Also, if we want different whether we can go up to the mountains and ski. Come back down and chill at the beach all in one day. The mountain views and nightlife is amazing here in LA. What we dislike about Los Angeles?! is the fires and the traffic.
