Meet Quentin Gause of Iron Visual in Santa Monica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quentin Gause.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Quentin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a former NFL linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots and Denver Broncos and the Founder of a Visual Marketing & Branding Consultancy – Iron Visuals. My story begins with a journey through my childhood starting with my struggle to learn concepts and needing an IEP/504 (Individual Education Plan) which is for special education needs students during my childhood and then extra tutors leading all the way up to college. At the age of eight, my father, a former football player, introduced me to football as a way to build confidence and social skills and in the long run teach us how to navigate through life with discipline, direction, the ability to multitask and drive. With my parent’s support and continuous motivation, we persevered through both educational hurdles and sports.

In eighth grade, I had an epiphany on the playground God direct my immediate attention to research schools that have the top Sports Journalism & Media studies programs, and what GPA requirements I needed to get accepted. At that moment, I instantly knew what I wanted to do – play football and study Sports Journalism.

Throughout my high school career, I woke up at 5:00 am every single day to work out before school began and after school, focused on my academics. I also traveled to different football camps, combines, and training sessions around the country. Going against the best of the best talents around the United States.

My family and friends knew I was hungry and wanted to earn a full-ride scholarship to college for football & Academics. Once I finished high school, I graduated with a 3.5 GPA and had six full division 1 Football offers.

The school I chose to attend was Rutgers University. Attending RU helped build me into the man I am today. I led the program on and off the field and established myself as an NFL level talent. I won an assortment of awards and achievements, including being named Team Captain in 2015, Big Ten All-Academic Team in 2014, the Rutgers Leadership Award in 2014, 4.0 GPA in college, Interned with ABC studios, Big Ten Network, SNY TV, and ESPN.

After my college career was over, I entered the 2016 NFL Draft and was an undrafted free agent to the Philadelphia Eagles, later I was picked up by the New England Patriots, then played most of my career with the Denver Broncos. I also played in the XFL as well with the L.A. WildCats.

How did Iron Visuals become what it is today? In 2017-2018 I was released from the Broncos, on my drive home from Denver to Rochester, NY the creative ideas came together and what’s now known as “Iron Visuals” was created. I always wanted to make my own business but this 24 hr trip back home was a pivotal turning point in my life, it helped me map out the journey of where I wanted to take Iron Visuals. Today Iron Visuals has been in business for three going on four years and we help businesses market to millennials and generation z customers. Our team has worked with brands like the NFL, Ford, Westgate Resorts, Lamar Advertising, and Starbucks. We are constantly growing and evolving but we love the clients we work with.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Upon emerging, the majority of new businesses in the beginning tend to face a variety of different obstacles and struggles. Within the initial launching of Iron Visuals, myself and my brother, the Co-founder, Brandin Gause endured multiple constructive learning curves. One of our main hurdles would be earning the client’s trust with minimal visual case studies, partially developed portfolio and simply our word guaranteeing a successful return on investments. Gradually we developed our portfolio internationally across South America, Central America, Thailand, Africa and the Caribbean filming and creating multiple video projects. Once our portfolio was constructed, we established a network within North America with local companies in regions where we had preexisting relationships and connections. In the initial transition into building relationships across America, we gained a few clients but not enough to sustain. Luckily we were able to seek guidance and direction from our mentors. We began to attend multiple conferences for Digital Marketers, which allowed us to connect with high league individuals in the industry with miraculous turn arounds, some of the individuals include: Gary Vee, Ryan Deiss, Jubril Agoro, Van Dennis, and many others. During this time, it allowed us to gather productive information, build relationships, directly inquire all while allowing us to provide value too. As our focus was redirected, we added more services to what our company offered and used the business techniques we learned to attract more clients. We now have multiple case studies under our belt, and our core competencies are Cinematic Visuals, Graphic Design, and Marketing & Branding.
