Meet Tomm Voss of Qi Within (Pron. Chi Within)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tomm Voss.

Tomm Voss is an Actor, Qigong teacher and world champion martial artist as well as a holistic nutrition, fitness and life coach.

After a decade as a professional bodybuilder and spokesperson for Men’s Fitness and Muscle & Fitness magazines, the extreme demands of that industry took a toll on Tomm’s body. In 2007, he was sent to the ICU and diagnosed with a severe autoimmune disease known as Henoch-Schönlein Vasculitis, the treatment of which caused Hypothyroidism. He was told he would need to take prescription drugs for the rest of his life.

Tomm then embarked on a journey to heal himself. He became a student of Grandmaster Zhou of the 18th generation Wudang Dragon Gate Qi Gong lineage. Through the guidance of Master Zhou, Tomm learned to balance his system through Qigong and holistic nutrition, and cleared himself of any need for medication.

In 2015, Tomm traveled with his mentor to the holy temples in the Wudang Mountains of China.

Tomm now shares what he has learned on his journey combining different modalities and supports groups and private clients in healing themselves from imbalances and chronic illnesses such as Parkinson’s, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer. He facilitates people in learning Qigong anywhere in the world on Skype, or in-person in Los Angeles.

Over the years, Tomm has studied several forms of martial arts from great mentors. In 2016, Under the mentorship of Grandmaster Felix Roiles, Tomm became Eskrima World Champion, a Filipino Martial Art, and attributes much of his success in competition to the strong foundation of health and well-being that Qigong has given him.

As a Qigong, nutrition, fitness, and life coach, Tomm is honored to help guide people of all ages and walks of life in achieving the balance and vitality required to live their greatest lives now.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Things have definitely not always been easy, I was bullied as an overweight kid and struggled with my weight and fitting in when I was a child. In 2007 I suffered from autoimmune disease and under functioning thyroid.

I Lost nearly everything I owned after the 2008 economic crash and my life like so many came to a screeching halt. I had to learn that it is not material things that matter, it’s our health and well-being and the ability and commitment to make a difference for others. Though material things are nice to have, it is not what we will be remembered for when we leave this earth. We will be remembered for the difference we make for others and the planet.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Qi Within (Pron. Chi Within) story. Tell us more about the business.
I combine over 20 years of knowledge both in health and fitness and draw from different modalities to help people achieve balance and improve and transform their lives. It is a unique combination of Eastern and Western philosophies combined with my own life experiences and lessons learned through years of study and practice.

I offer both private and corporate Qigong classes for Balance, Health and Wellbeing.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
As the saying goes “Luck is when opportunity meets preparation” I definitely believe that “Luck” plays a big role in where I am today, it is however combined with action and discipline that I have gotten to where I am and achieved results from the opportunities I have been presented with.

I believe we create our luck. We can see any situation or circumstance as either a blessing or a curse and what we chose to believe determines the outcome and experience. That is the power of choice our responsibility, our ability to respond to what life presents us with. Looking back, the hardest times in my life have been my greatest teachers and blessings.
