Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey in the skincare industry started very unorthodox for me. Although I’m no stranger to it, as I have worked as a fashion model for over 10 years, I never imagined having my own skincare product. One day I was doing some spring cleaning and came across a tub of raw African shea butter that my uncle purchased while visiting me in LA but left it at my house to use. Now at this time I have no idea what I’m going to do with 2 pounds of raw butter. So, I’m on a joint FaceTime call and show my cousin and God-sister with the anticipation of throwing the whole thing away. They convinced me that I should use it for myself since I suffer from eczema that it could help when my skin is dry. So, we all do some research on how to even make the product, and I made what I now call my original creation of “Lemon pound cake.” The texture came out so nice with this invigorating fragrance, and before you know it, the birth of Haus of Prince Body Butters came into existence. I used close friends and family as my focus group during my discovery phase to expand the products into various fragrances to know what worked and what didn’t. Based on their feedback, the products that are on the market now are made to perfection with love and healing.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This has been a very rewarding road but not a smooth moment in sight haha. There were a lot of struggles since I currently work in a corporate role full-time, finding the time to plan around my business has been a struggle. I’m usually up at 1 or 2 am making products to keep up with the demand. My biggest obstacle was getting the approvals I needed to launch on the market for Amazon. At one point during my official launch day there were products taken down due to a compliance issue (That came out to be false I won the appeal), my storefront link out of all days crashed and didn’t work for majority of my customers trying to place an order. That day was filled with disappointment and frustration, but I’m more than thankful to be on the other side of things. I picked my head back up and stayed in the game to see it through for the sake of my supporters.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was very shy but still charming and charismatic. My parents raised me to be a go-getter, outspoken but respectful and always go against the grain. I grew up playing sports because my dad was a coach for basketball and football, but my favorite sport was always volleyball. As much as I wanted to be the kid in the background chilling, I always seemed to stand out, or my parents forced me to get up and be away from the crowd, lol. Every church Christmas play, Easter Sunday play, etc. You name it I was most likely part of it and had to give main character energy every time haha. After I got into high school the sports life went on the back burner and fashion and arts became my new normal. I remember dressing up when my parents had big church events, but I never saw fashion for myself until a mentor of mine saw it inside of me. Which then got me involved with acting and modeling as a potential career I saw for myself.
