I started Parmar Accounting Service with a simple vision to offer personalized accounting, payroll, and tax services that really catered to each client’s needs. After graduating with an accounting degree, I worked in the public accounting industry for a while, but quickly realized that many small businesses weren’t getting the level of attention and service they truly needed from larger firms. I knew I could offer something different.
Despite not having my CPA yet, I took a leap and started my own firm in Charleston, SC. I faced the challenge of proving myself, especially since many people in the industry place a lot of value on the CPA title. But I was committed to showing clients that expertise and care go beyond just a title. Through hard work, constant learning, and truly focusing on what my clients needed, I was able to build strong, trusting relationships.
It hasn’t always been easy, but every step has taught me something valuable, and today, Parmar Accounting Service is growing. I’m continuing to work toward my CPA while expanding the business and striving to provide even more value to my clients. It’s been a rewarding journey, and I’m excited about what’s ahead.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles I faced early on was not getting enough clients. Without the CPA title, it was tough to convince people to trust me with their accounting needs. I had to work hard to prove myself, focusing on offering exceptional service and building trust. It took time, but eventually, word of mouth and delivering great results helped me build a solid client base.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is when I first learned to ride a bike. I taught myself without trainer wheels or any help from others, figuring it out on my own through trial and error. It was a moment of independence and perseverance, and it taught me the value of self-reliance and pushing through challenges. That experience showed me that even when things seem tough or uncertain, with determination and a bit of patience, I can figure things out and overcome obstacles on my own.
