Meet Mandy Lile of Potency No. 710

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandy Lile.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It’s been said, I’m disrupting the beauty industry with the launch of Potency No. 710. See a whole new ingredient has been introduced to the beauty world just recently and I’m in the middle of it all, just glowing along the way.  I have a history with this ingredient that goes back some 40 years ago for me.

I’m speaking about the Cannabis plant and in regard to Potency my skincare line I’m referring to CBD. I was born and raised in a small town in KY where my dad was the local drug dealer and I was clearly destined to fail. But with my hardworking mom I overcame that and later turned the stigma of the plant and my family’s reputation into something beautiful with Potency CBD skincare line. The odds of being raised in a single family home in a small town seem to be against me but finding balance and not allowing others’ opinions define me helped me be who I am today. A strong, independent young woman who wants every little girl to know that they are responsible for their own happiness and that dreams do come true no matter what your situation might have been.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Because of my experience in the skin care industry it has honestly been a beautiful ride. I’d say the only scary part was launching prior to the farm bill and not knowing if my website was going to get shut down or my merchant was going to freeze my funds and ban me. Until recently it was like living in the twilight zone you could say. Now they are a little more lenient on topical CBD. It’s also still very hard to do any kind of major marketing but it is getting better. Since I’m direct to consumer that’s a small hurdle. It’s almost like CBD is a bad word. But it will soon be a household name like Vitamin C. I’m pretty sure of that.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Potency No. 710 – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Bringing a new ingredient like CBD into the beauty industry has been very exciting. I became an aesthetician at the age of 19. I had built my first skin care clinic by the age of 20 in Greenville KY. I guess you could say I became pretty successful in that small hometown of mine. Mentoring under a very well know surgeon and traveling literally around the world learning different techniques and playing in some of the most beautiful spas were I learned what I liked and disliked very early on definitely help mold me. But I would eventually outgrow my small town and head West. All while keeping an amazing number of friends and relationships along the way. Believe me this helped when I launched Potency. I definitely love my hometown. But the move was destined to happen.

Since I’ve been in skin care, I’ve always been into clean ingredients. I have always tried to avoid products with excessive chemicals, unnecessary dyes and avoid that synthetic feel in my everyday products. I guess you could say I prefer plants. I’m fascinated everyday with the power of plants especially cannabis.

Until recently, December 20, 2018 to be exact. The ingredient CBD wasn’t legal. So, it’s that new to the world especially in the beauty industry we’re all they seem to have spoken about was Vitamins C & E for decades. My interest in the ingredient sparked when my fiancé ventured into the cannabis business. I was nervous about this business since my father had spent 13 years of my life in prison for cannabis. As the smoke cleared, I started to come out of shock that Cannabis was now legal, and we were a legit business. I knew it was time to dig in and be at the forefront of something my dad actually pioneered for I guess you could say. I’m certain I’ll be wrote about in the history books as being at the forefront of it all as far as beauty & CBD is concerned, I mean I can dream can’t I ? Lol

As I began to dig into the plant life a little deeper and reading more about the different uses , the ideas just started racing in my head and I pretty much secluded myself and read 24/7 for months and looked for reputable sources and manufacturers, this is very critical. I took my past knowledge of essential oils and my fiancé’s knowledge of the cannabis side and merged the two to launch my first Potency product The Gold Serum. A 100mg full spectrum CBD serum with a blend of some of the world’s most sought after oils. Thus far Potency is literally transforming an array of skin types and conditions and said to be a true skin balancer. Everyone always asks what’s behind the name well here’s the definition

po·ten·cy

/ˈpōtnsē/

  1. the power of something to influence or make an impression.

And if you reverse 710 it’s OIL

It’s said I’m definitely making an impression all while disrupting the beauty industry in a good way of course. I am so grateful to have had so much positive feedback over the past 2 years. I’m so happy to tell the story of a drug dealers daughter who took the stigma of the cannabis plant and turned into something beautiful after all.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
To grow my brand and educate people on clean ingredients, the power of plants and how important self-care really is in building confidence. I’m currently reformulating 2 products to also to include CBD since I’ve seen such amazing results and it’s officially legal now. I’m also working on getting my EU certification to get my brand across the globe. I am also sponsoring several events across LA. My next event in April is the White Rabbit High Tea which is an Alice in Wonderland take on tea parties you could say. So, it looks as if I’ll be soon going down the rabbit hole!
