Meet Pop Artist Mandi Macias

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pop Artist Mandi Macias.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started music when I was eight years old when my Nana Barbara passed away. I wrote my first song for my Nana called “old Pal” I never released the song though. To be honest, I was been playing with our families piano as young as 2-3 years old! I love playing the piano. When I was a little girl, my parents put me in all kinds of competitive sports and acting classes which I also enjoyed, but piano was my true passion.

I took acting and dancing classes. This is when I decided I had passion for acting and started drama class during my middle school years. That’s when my life changed and I started with performing arts and less competitive sports. Music was still at the top of my list and writing songs was my go to when I was happy or sad. But I wasn’t aware that my journey with music as a singer-songwriter would lead me to having 12 songs out at age 17.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Overall it has been smooth but there have been some speed bumps and roadblocks along the way. It’s a learning experience that’s for sure. I will say that being young in an adult’s world isn’t easy. They expect a lot from a young teen and there’s lots of demands in music like having a catalog of songs, having a website, working on your social media fans and get your numbers up. I had a lot of rehearsals learning choreo, working on music videos and recording my music. All of that while getting through high school with good grades! I’m a bit an overachiever haha because I even became class president of my leadership class.

My life seemed normal to me but I’ve been told my life is not normal, that normal teens don’t have 12 songs out or go on tour. I’d like to believe I’m a normal teenage girl who just loves to make music. Now looking back, I worked very hard to be where I am, I gave up lots of sleepovers, parties, etc… It’s not sad to me I missed all that because I love my life and my music world and looking forward to making my career in the entertainment industry. Also I have great friends who support me a lot! Did I mention I act too haha another obstacle for some but I see it as apart of who I am, a singer, songwriter & actress.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m an entertainer! I’m a singer, songwriter, dancer & actress. I specialize in writing songs and performing live my original music. I connect to each of my songs differently and I’m very picky about how the song gets produced and that I’m apart of every step of putting my music & song together. I sometimes visualize music videos while recording my music. My mind is very creative and my ears are very sensitive to music. I play piano (I can read music) I also been learning electric guitar (haven’t mastered it though). I guess I’m known for my music. I believe everyone has their own uniqueness, which sets them apart yet at the same time, we all have commonalities. I think what sets me apart is I’m passionate and serious about my music but yet I’m goofy and fun to hang out with! I work hard to play hard and I’ve been told I’m an old soul.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Oh, this is easy! Have my music out on mainstream radio and be a global name! Love to have a world tour and to sell out a huge stadium being the headliner. My big dream is to perform at a Super Bowl halftime! Most of all-singing my songs that I wrote and have other artist sing songs I write for them! But of course, I’m open to write with other amazing songwriters and collaborate with Taylor Swift and Harry Styles to just name a few, so many artist I’d like to co-write & perform with!
