Today we’d like to introduce you to Polyna.
Polyna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in a small Siberian town located in the middle of Siberian Taiga. Ever since I was little, I had a big dream of being a music artist and exploring the world. Like a Little Mermaid, I’ve always been fascinated by far lands and different cultures. And here I am, traveling the world, making music and sharing it with people! Just the way I was dreaming. Although I have to admit, it took me years of practice, countless rejections and the unbreakable intention that my dream will come true no matter how many times I hear “no”. So my biggest lesson and the advice to all the dreamers out there will be: “Don’t give up! Don’t stop believing in yourself and your path. Just keep going and it will happen for you!”
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I believe that there can’t be a firm answer here as it all comes down to our perception. While I could think I struggled a lot, some people would say that my path was very smooth and easy. From my point of view, I can say that I had both: magical miracle moments and very big falls. But I treat my failures or rejections mostly as lessons and experiences that made my spirit even stronger. Also, if you never experienced hell, how will you realize that you’re in heaven?
Please tell us about your art.
I am a music artist, singer, songwriter, performer, dancer. I also play the violin and do everything for my project (from creative ideas to art direction and execution). I’m very proud of where I am now and where I’ll be soon. I write and sing music, create visual art and let the world listen/see it. It’s an amazing gift – to be able to do what you love! My whole life story and my roots make me stand out. I’m different and I’m proud of it.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me, success is to be able to do what you love full time and to be heard – i.e. to be essential for the World. If you could help or even change the lives of people with your art (or whatever your field is), that’s an absolute success to me!
