Meet Pierre Aristil

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pierre Aristil.

Pierre, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born into a musical family. I was introduced to music so early that I don’t even remember the first time I played the piano or the drums. My dad was a musician since he was young living in Haiti. Music was part of his story for coming to America. He had a music school and would put together chamber orchestras and string quartets. And of course my siblings and I ended up teaching other students our age and even people twice our age. By the time I was 15, I already performed at dozens of weddings, funerals, banquets, parties and more. I fell in love with the feeling of creating music experiences for people to walk through whatever they were going through. I also became heavily involved with the local churches. Teaching musicians and singers how to create moments and musical experiences through worship. This took off for me!

In the last 12 years, I’ve moved several times around the country doing this. And that is what brought me to Los Angeles. Now, I get the opportunity to produce and write songs with a message of hope; pointing people to God. With my Haitian and classical background, I’ve become obsessed with catchy melodies and singable bass lines. I am also a musical director; so I get the privilege to work with artists and bands when it comes to building a live experience on the stage. September 2019 makes it two years since I’ve lived here in LA and I am still at ground level and growing!

Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not! When I think about the “road” I’m on I think about lanes. The struggle has been finding my lane. People think because I play many instruments, produce, write, sing, director, compose, speak, etc. that it’s easy for me to do anything. That is actually the problem. Being able to do so much and wear so many hats oftentimes slow me down. Finding my lane has been the toughest challenge.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a Music Creator. Production, Composition. I am known for my multi-instrumentalist capabilities in the studio and on the stage. I’m definitely proud of the uniqueness in sound that I’m able to produce. What sets me apart is that I have no boundaries when it comes to creating. Starting everything from scratch to find the need of the project.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I definitely do feel like our city is a great place to start for people and businesses like me. I would recommend someone starting here. If they don’t start here they will eventually come and finish here lol.
