Today we’d like to introduce you to Phil Aguilar.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Raised up in Anaheim California in a very dysfunctional family, full of domestic violence. I chose the path of drugs and destruction as a teenager. I was a Hippee in the 60’s, a Hardcore biker in the 70’s, and sentenced to 1-10 yrs in the California Prison system. While incarcerated at Chino State Prison, I saw the Light, and made a decision to follow God and help other’s who were sick and tired of being sick and tired! I have spent the last 40 plus years helping hopeless dope fiends, become, dopeless Hope fiends.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being a x Heroin Addict, and destroying so many peoples lives, took a long time cleaning up the wreckage of my past. I had to work xtrra hard, to build up trust with family, friends, and new people I work with daily. Detoxing from the drugs, was easy, in comparison to having to change my whole crazy lifestyle.
Set Free Worldwide Ministries – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from others?
Set Free ain’t just a name, it’s a way of life!!! The Bible says in John 8;32 “You will know the truth, and the truth will Set you Free”. Daily I have sought to be a true friend, not having any hidden agenda, just a Love to help others have a great life. We are known as people who Go where Pizza Man won’t deliver!!! We tell people, we don’t have room, we make room!!! We have opened up Detox Ranches, and Rehab homes, to help the addicted learn a new way of living. I am so proud of watching multitudes of families be restored and enjoying the abundant life. Set Free Worldwide Ministries is a trailblazer when it comes to loving on people like we do!!!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success by having a peace of mind that allows you to be content when the whole world around you is falling apart. I believe a person is rich when they realize they have more than enough and share it with others. When I see people being steadfast, always making progress, and hungry for learning, I know they are getting the Victory!!!
