

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter White.
Peter, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started working with tacos when I was 16 yrs old. After working with several great companies, I opened our first Plancha Tacos in Beverly Grove in 2010 and our 2nd store in Venice Beach in 2014. After 32 years, I still love tacos and customer service. The restaurant business is a lot of work, but it sure is fun and rewarding,
We are opening 2 more locations in 2017 and I am super excited about the future!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The restaurant business is never exactly “smooth”. There are a lot of moving parts and different things can go wrong from time to time. Whether it’s construction, government regulations, health department, payroll, customer and employee issues or just plain old fatigue…it’s never a dull ride. After all, this is a “human” business and human error is always lurking. But when it all comes together every single day, and I see the smiles I get from customers and staff…that makes it all worth while
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Plancha Tacos – what should we know?
Plancha Tacos is a company of small taco joints. We try to keep it simple. Offering a menu that aims to please our guest’s varying appetites, we have everything from sauteed spicy garlic shrimp to downtown-style rolled tacos. Fresh salads and lettuce cup tacos to crispy shells and ballpark nachos. Breakfast burritos sold all day till midnight. Beer battered fresh fish tacos, spicy habanero salsa, tortilla soup and huevos rancheros.
All under one roof, all under $10 bucks,
