Meet Pearline B.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pearline B.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Pearline. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I got my start in church. My mother made me join the children’s choir. Did not know that would be the beginning of the start of my passions. I fell in love with music. I fell in love with people servicing them and entertaining them. I fell in love with the mic and my voice.

Then I went on the learn the drums, alto saxophone, and piano in school. I joined the concert and marching band. Also, I joined drama club and was in a high school play.

In 2017, I was privileged to join the On Air With Sir team and learned so much in radio, podcast, and hosting world.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In grade school, it was discovered that I had Dyslexia. Which made it hard for me to learn. It took me more time to process and understand lesson and skills to develop. But, I stayed diligent in how to master Dyslexia so it couldn’t master me.

I had suicidal thoughts in school. Which developed during being bullied in school and the neighborhood for being the black girl in a suburban neighborhood.

Also, being overweight made it hard for me to develop a great self-esteem. But, recognizing that I am beautiful just how I am. Empowering myself with confidence. That I am amazing all by myself.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Pearline B. is the brand. I am the brand. The brand is me. I am a singer and songwriter. I have sung classical and opera music. I have traveled throughout the United States. In 2019, I won an R&B competition. Then performed in Canada during the Caribana Festival. I am currently working in gospel and soul music. I am in the studio working on my album, “Silent Relief.” My single, “Luminous” is available right now on all music platforms.

I am also an On Air Personality. I have my own show call, “Just Being Me Pearline B. Show.” Available for guest interviews as well.

I am also host events and a model. In the coming months, I will be releasing more from my brand. Stay tuned.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My parents and sisters are my biggest support system and encouragers. Even when starting to learn the alto saxophone. They with stood the loud gawking sound. They allowed me to find my sound. When I found my voice. They made sure that I never muted my sound for no one.

To all my music teachers. Thank you for showing me the dedication it takes to practice and learn music.

To Sir. Thanks for taking me under your wing in radio and podcast. You gave me many skills and opportunities.

I want to thank God for creating me just how I am. I didn’t always understand why. But, I understand now why I was created. For my calling and purpose in life. You never gave up on me. Even when I wanted to. You showed me my worth to this world. Thank you.
