Meet Paulina Karpis of Brunchwork in Santa Monica and Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paulina Karpis.

Paulina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I came up with the idea for brunchwork when I was considering an MBA. I saw a mismatch between the value and the price of an MBA: half-a-million dollars including the opportunity cost of not working for two years. I felt uncomfortable going into debt and disempowered about my options. I set out to recreate the value of the MBA in a way that fits into my routine, at a fraction of the cost.

It turns out a lot of millennial professionals and entrepreneurs felt the same way I did. Today, thousands of millennials are brunching with us in LA, SF, and NY.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Brunchwork is creating a new category with our colearning model. Colearning combines expert knowledge and peer-to-peer mentoring across companies.

We’re pioneering a completely new way of tackling an age-old opportunity (business education). One of our biggest challenges has been raising awareness about our category. We need to shine a light on how millennial professionals learn business and grow their networks today.

Brunchwork – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Brunchwork is one of the first and largest colearning companies. Our mission is career advancement through community. We teach 10,000 millennial professionals and entrepreneurs annually in NYC, SF and LA and educate 100,000 online.

We host dynamic power brunches with industry leaders like the top A&R execs, legendary Hollywood producers, 2020 Presidential Candidates, many Midas List investors, and more. Our mission is career advancement through community.

Brunchwork members love our incredible speakers and dynamic breakout sessions. brunchwork sessions are highly interactive. Members get real-time feedback and coaching from the speakers and high-achieving peers.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Everyday, our team strives to empower our members in their business and career journeys. I define my success by the satisfaction of our members and clients.

Our community members’ success is my success. I love to celebrate our member wins. It can be a member finding a cofounder at brunchwork for their side hustle, securing that first check into their first company, building up their skills to score a promotion at work, and so much more!
