Meet Paul Newman of SuperTallPaul in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Newman.

Paul, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Discovered live looping in high school. Moved to California from Indiana after an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps. Used GI bill to get a recording education. First album Helios Jive got best independent Jazz album of the year 2005. Traveled the world with circus troupes and music acts. Entered the Boss Loop World Championship and became a world champion looper. Formed the Jive Joint traveling Improv/Variety show with SuperTallPaul as the lead and Host. Currently doing every type of performance from kids shows to weddings to national music festivals.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a clear path of desire but a challenge to keep up with the balance of doing what you love verses being able to afford the cost of life. I am very grateful to have now been exclusively an entertainment artist for over a decade. Always adding skills to my growing bag of tricks.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I specialize in bringing joy, laugher, and tunes for an experience that transcends generations. Great for a backyard get together, wedding, festival, dinner theater, street fair, full theatrical stage show.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I like to think of luck as another word for blessing. I have had lots of blessings in the life of my business. It is amazing to experience in a single moment little kids dancing to my music, hipsters digging the beat, and grandparents saying, “I have always loved this song.”
