Today we’d like to introduce you to Parker Scott.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Parker. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey started when I stopped listening to others and started believing in myself. I was blessed to move to LA to intern for Issa Rae’s publicist. While it was an incredible position to have, I stepped out on faith to pursue my very own company due to my entrepreneurial mindset. Being in this position allowed me to discover my true value in my career. I knew it was better to start sooner than later. It just felt right at that moment. The journey has been a process, to say the least, however, I know this is absolutely a purpose-driven talent. Now, I am currently twenty-three years old and the CEO of Parker Scott Public Relations, which is a full agency PR boutique that is based in Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, there have been many challenges and obstacles along my journey, however, I suggest to those starting their journey to stay positive and remain humble always. Stay focused on the end goal and remember to keep God first in everything that you do. Some of my struggles along the way have been regaining confidence in myself when at my lowest or after being told “no”. But, refocusing on balance and having peace of mind in my life has definitely helped me to stay motivated and to stay persistent.

I am the head publicist of PSPR. If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would’ve initially begun with a business plan instead of just taking action steps. Proper planning is essential when starting a business and I believe that the transition would’ve been a little smoother. Yet, I am very grateful for the learning process that has enlightened me to develop more strategies and resources to keep going! The most important piece of information I’d give a young entrepreneur just starting their career is to stay strong, always move with purpose, plan ahead, choose grace over grind, build healthy relationships and take as many breaks as needed for self-care.
