Meet Pa Chia Vang

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pa Chia Vang.

Pa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Initially, I started blogging in 2014 to share photography and artwork from artists in my community. It soon turned into a fashion blog where I share tips and styles from thrifting, upcycling, and DIY sewing. After years of deciding what I wanted to do as a career, I decided to go into entrepreneurship and help myself and other small businesses grow.

I got my first sponsorship and paid gig three years later. I collaborated with small businesses and brands that support philanthropic initiatives and sustainability. I created blog content, Instagram content, and videos promoting their products and services. However, finding unique ways to create content can be challenging. To expand my platform, I began traveling to draw inspiration and open my eyes to the beauty of the world.

LA became a place I can easily escape to. I live in Minnesota, but I often travel to LA for the experience and work. I love the diversity and the many cultures thriving in that city. I also love the nature and the outdoors. LA makes it so easy to visit the beach, the mountains, and the desert! The best part about LA is connecting with other ambitious creatives. It is truly inspiring and encouraging to meet people who have paved the road to allow more creators to enter the scene. They are the greatest motivation for why I continue to seek opportunities and open my heart to new experiences.

Many of my achievements thus far is the result of teamwork. I would not be able to do all of this without my talented business partner and my sister Xee. Our teamwork has led us to discover our abilities and potential. Indeed, we can do them all if we set our hearts to it! Therefore, we started a floral business to keep creating and share our art with the world. Our dream is to pursue a lifestyle that would bring together all the things we love to do. I hope to inspire others to do the same and never limit themselves.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There were many challenges to overcome. One challenge was finding a purpose and how to carry it out in everyday life. It was a challenge trying to balance everything I was doing. When I first started, I was going to school full time and had two part-time jobs. I had to work on my blog and projects late into the night and during the weekends. I was mentally and physically exhausted. I was also struggling to be financially stable. Choosing a competitive career was hard to maintain if I did not focus on all my tasks at hand. Although I did not earn much of an income, I have gained experiences, skills, and lifelong friendships. To me, that is a worthy reason to keep continuing. Eventually, I did learn to navigate through these challenges through hard work and sheer determination.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a fashion enthusiast, social media content creator, and a florist at V. Florals. Through fashion photography and filming, I take my followers on a journey to exploring sophisticated styles, world travels, and discovering new brands. I represent brands that I love, as well as those committed to helping the environment with cruelty-free, sustainable, and quality products. I also help small businesses plan and execute visuals and promotional videos for their social media platforms.

Recently, my sister and I launched V. florals. It is a small business dedicated to growing, arranging, and preserving flowers. We relied on our agricultural heritage to grow flowers and direct it toward our own aspirations. We use organic practices and integrate sustainability to ensure that our customers receive the most vibrant arrangements. Leftover flowers of the season are then dried and repurposed for our handcrafted good, such as candles. Preserving flowers in our work is a way to allow people to enjoy them all year long. Just like how we are inspired beautiful visuals, we want to encourage our customers to surround themselves with beautiful things!

What were you like growing up?
I grew up surrounded by creatives. My parents did not have much, so they learned how to create things themselves. Growing up, I would watch my dad build shelves, dining tables, and remodel entire rooms. My mom was an excellent gardener and seamstress. Although I do not have 100% of the capabilities they do, I learned many of my skills from them, and I integrate the knowledge towards my own. Personality-wise, I was once a shy girl, but an ambitious one!
