Meet Omid (Joey) Cohen of Affordable Home Fabrics in Downtown Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Omid (Joey) Cohen.

Omid, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After years of working around downtown Los Angeles with different fabric stores I fell in love with home decor fabric, and not just basic things but fun vibrant designs that everyone loves. I was lucky enough to find a business partner who shared the passion, we are lucky enough to work with well-known companies like P Kaufmann, Robert Allen, Waverly just to name a few, who work with us to provide great affordable prices for our customers.

Has it been a smooth road?
Every business has its challenges. We are lucky to have a great location with an amazing people who come from all around the world.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Affordable Home Fabrics story. Tell us more about the business.
We distribute drapery and upholstery fabric but it’s much more than that. Many of our products are used for weddings, costumes and different kinds of events. We carry different kinds of drapery fabrics for any kind of home as well as the sheers to put behind them, either solids or designs. We also have a huge upholstery selection to make chairs, couches, pillows to match those beautiful curtains. Something that sets us apart is our amazing selection of designer prints by well-known respected brands such as P Kaufmann, Waverly, Richloom, Robert Allen.

Something that makes me proud to be a part of this company is our customer service. We always have the best interest of our customers at heart.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the industry growing at a healthy pace. Most of the trends change and come back then there are colors that come in style and go out of style, however, some of the material we carry are timeless.
