Meet Olivia Scott of Fit By O in Hancock Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Scott.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I moved to LA from New York about twenty years ago to be a dancer. After being introduced to Pilates by a friend I fell in love with the workout & results I was seeing in my body. When I decided I wanted to help other people achieve their fitness & health goals I knew it had to be a well-rounded approach.

As I was apprenticing to teach Pilates, I received my NASM certification in personal & group training, as well as correctional exercise & fitness nutrition. I was fortunate to have a solid client base from the start and many of those first clients are still my clients today. In 2008, I launched the Fit By O Bootcamp Program, a 55-minutes full-body exercise routine five days a week at Robert Burns Park in Hancock Park and Park La Brea in West Hollywood. Due to popular demand, we’re now developing online programs that will be available on our website in late Spring.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As I mentioned previously, I have been so lucky to have a good group of clients since the very beginning, and many of them are still my clients (and friends) today. I would say one of the biggest challenges in the fitness space is keeping up with the new trends in fitness. I’m always looking at new ways of challenging my clients and keeping it fresh for them, but through a strict lens of what works and what doesn’t work. All of my clients know that I’m all about consistency and moderation. It’s something I live by myself, and you’ll hear me say frequently during my classes.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Fit By O – what should we know?
Fit by O is based in Hancock Park, Los Angeles. The company was established in 2008. We offer Bootcamps, Pilates and In-Home classes. First of all, I’m very grateful for having had the same people as my clients for so long. I know many companies have to call it quits after only a few years, and we are lucky to still be going strong and growing. I am also very proud that we get to help people locally and across the country feel better about themselves. I love receiving messages from my clients saying they stopped focusing on the number of the scale and more on how they feel. Fit By O has become so much more than just a workout, it’s a community.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
There have been so many clients, friends and family who have supported us through the years.

Our company has grown so much from referrals & word of mouth, which is a testament to the amazing client base that have been with us from the beginning. In large part it is thanks to them that we just keep growing.
