Meet Oliver Nazaryfar of Mold Mitigation Professionals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Oliver Nazaryfar.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Oliver. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After receiving my Master’s degree in Environmental and Petroleum university in the United Kingdom, I wanted to pursue my own environmental firm; one which would uphold strict environmental standards, honesty and objectivity from a more academic standpoint. After acquiring a number of years of experience in the environmental field, I felt confident enough to begin my journey and exercise my formal training and academic prowess.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Certainly not. There will always be a level of trepidation when wanting to start a business, but it depends on what you’re looking to achieve with a ‘career’. I always felt that my level of knowledge in the industry, as well as my drive, was enough of an excuse to take a risk and go at it alone.

Some of main struggles will be with starting up and finding your demographic, and how you want to move forward as a company and brand. One of my favorite mantras all along has been, “if it doesn’t benefit your business, then it doesn’t benefit” i.e. don’t allow personal frustrations impede what you’re trying to achieve.

Please tell us about Mold Mitigation Professionals.
Mold Mitigation Professionals specialize in mold inspections and air quality testing in residential and commercial properties. We do not perform remediation, so there is no conflict of interest when working with us. With our air quality testing, we currently test for mold spores, pollen, dust mites and various allergens. Beginning later this year, we will be offering services for monitoring the VOC (volatile organic compound) air quality in properties, as well as Formaldehyde; this would prove useful for those experiencing air quality issues in their properties after renovations have taken place.

We use an accredited lab to analyze our air samples, and then we provide full reports for our clients which outline what is going on in their property.

As a company, I would have to say that we are most proud of our credentials within this industry, since you won’t find many inspectors with a Master’s degree, as well as our objectivity and honesty. We don’t ever look to gain from our clients and our online reviews reflect that. What also sets us apart from other companies is that A) We do not do remediation, therefore allowing the client to ascertain the extent of the issue from an unbiased source and B) We actually outline what specifically needs to be remediated in the property, so the client can then pursue that line of work if need be.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
It’s hard to say at this point, but it would have been useful to have had more knowledge on the marketing side of operations.
