Today we’d like to introduce you to October London.
October London is Multi-Genre singer/Songwriter/Producer and Actor known for such songs as “Go On with Snoop Dogg,” “Bring Me Up Feat Faith Evans” “Black Man In America,” and “High On Heels w/ Bootsy Collins.”
Who Is October London? Singer-songwriter & Producer October London was born on October 17, 1986, in South Bend, Indiana.
Born Jared Samuel Erskine on October 17, 1986, in South Bend Indiana, popular singer-songwriter October London grew up in a very musically inclined family. He didn’t always want to be a singer though. The music inside of him just kind of….seeped out. He had once wanted to become a Storm Chaser, a Semi Truck driver, a creative designer for a major car company given his taste in beautiful cars, and even wanted to pursue acting. Growing up October London attended Winnie the pooh Pre-School, McKinley Elementary School and John Adams High School in South Bend. Although London’s crafty ways in the studio might lead you to believe that he has talent with playing several instruments, that is actually untrue. There was no band practice in school, no summertime piano or guitar lessons, and he couldn’t read music to save his life. October learned music by hitting the play and record button simultaneously on his boom box in his bedroom. October didn’t need to know how to read music if his brain could save sound structure and tone to his mental hard drive.
To Los Angeles & Beyond
On March of 2016, October London had found his wings and didn’t hesitate to fly high. Snoop Dogg opened up the gates to his compound which held a multi-million dollar studio and made it his own home. He recorded his first 2 part debut album titled “Colorblind: Hate and Happiness”. Finding his way was not a long process at all. He recorded 22 songs in an impressive four days while working on snoops album, two mixtapes and a record with Faith Evans. Needless to say, Snoop was impressed with his work ethic and called heavy hitter and music mogul P. Diddy and more to see London at work. He had begun to find success writing songs for and with popular artists, including Snoop Dogg, Faith Evans, 1500 or Nothing, Bootsy Collins, Jazze Pha, Nile Rodgers, Kurupt, Dazz Dillinger, Jerry Barnes and many more. After several years as a starving artist, London broke out signing with Music Producer Jazze Pha and Legend Snoop Dogg as a collaborative deal under the label name Cadilacc Music. This deal started the engine that would quickly take him from his childhood home of South Bend Indiana, to Los Angeles California where October would write unforgettable songs like, “Revolution”, which made it on Snoop’s Album Cool-aid, “Go On” which made it on not only Snoop’s album Neva Left but also got major recognition on the widely known NFL video game “Madden 18”. Other popular songs by London include “High on Heels” from the Boosty Collins new album World Wide Funk, “Waves”, which made it on both October London’s album and Snoop Dogg’s E.P. 220, “My Last Name” from the Snoop Dogg album Make America Crip Again, and his gospel song “In the Name of Jesus” that made it on Snoop Dogg’s critically acclaimed gospel album Bible of Love.
2017
In 2017, October got his first acting role (playing himself) on Fox’s hit television show “Empire”. The Empire episode ‘Civil Hands Unclean’, gives October headway in the possibilities of taking up acting to further his career in the entertainment industry. Not too long after acting on a hit TV show, October got another role in a movie that he would not only star in but also Co-direct. To add more content to his album “Colorblind”, October and Snoop decide to shoot a movie behind the old school sounding album and feature comedian and actor Mike Epps in the film to give it the Indiana spark it truly deserved. Seeing as October was from South Bend and Mike Epps was from Indianapolis, they to hit it off and hit the ground running. The whole movie was shot in Louisiana in 3 days, given the work ethic of these three brilliant minds.
2018
The year 2018 was a great start. London’s music, regardless of which genre he happens to be dabbling in at the time, is infused with a vibe more in line with painstaking studio sessions than the lean-fueled, off-top frivolity of many of his peers. He recently released a Pop album titled “Waves” and a Passion driven mixtape titled “4 Play (The Sexplicit EP)” which both together holds an eclectic sound that one known publication aptly described as “the love child of R. Kelly and John Mayer.” That sounds weird as hell, but it works. He has also this year been featured in Vibe magazine for Snoop’s 220 album and has been recognized for his writing and producing credit on snoops album “bible of love” which was the Number 1 gospel album and number 1 streaming gospel album in the country according to billboard and soundscan. London has also performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Working on a major gospel E.P. that may or may not feature Kirk Franklin and has inked his own vodka deal. His vodka is called “Je Te Veux” pronounced (Jeh-Tay-Voo) which is French for “I Want You”.
2019
2019 is starting to move a bit slower but with bigger business moves for London. So far he’s currently taking meetings in Texarkana Texas with big business owner Charlie Bergen about a co-ownership deal with Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep and Ram stores in northern Texas. October is not only expanding his vodka brand nationwide but he also is about to sign a co-ownership deal with a well-known bar next to the University of Notre Dame by the name of “Danny Boy Brew Works” in south bend. Last but not least, as of May 14th, October London has recorded a total of 9 new projects, has started his own company called “London Creative Group” which houses three other businesses that he co-owns titled “Doober-Treats” which is a marijuana and pharmaceutical Delivery company he created with Chad Martin, a make-up line called “Ember Beauty” he has his hand in with Tamara Erskine and a new summer cologne he co-created with longtime friend and ghostwriter Tripp Caimbridge titled “5150 pronounced (Fifty One Fifty)”.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road I’ve been on has NOT been smooth. I don’t regret one thing that I may or may have not done because I know that growth has its fair share of learning processes. I do take those things I’ve learned, process them and make better sound decisions as I embark on new adventures along the way. Some of my struggles have been a basket of many things. On my journey, I’ve encountered classism in owning my own businesses, I’ve encountered blatant ignorance in the music game amongst the music industry, backroom sexual advances to push me into a better stance in the industry at a quicker pace and many other obstacles. Needless to say, I’ve rolled over and played dead many times and it finally seems like I can play the shooter so to speak.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with London Creative Group – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
As far as my company or businesses I’m apart of, I currently own a company called “London Creative Group LLC”. London creative group houses three other her companies under its umbrella. One company with Chad Martin being “Doober-Treats” Delivery service. We’re currently in the process of (Legally) delivering Marijuana, Marijuana Products & Pharmaceuticals to customers all over their legalized licensed state. The second one is Called “Ember Beauty”. Ember Beauty, which is mainly ran by Tamara Erskine, is an on the rise make-up company that launches this summer. Last but not least, I have started a joint fragrance brand with longtime friend Tripp Caimbridge. The cologne is called “5150” pronounced (Fifty One Fifty).
I think this right here sets me apart from other artists in the music industry. Instead of me making all the money I have made and going and buying a Rolls Royce the first week, jewelry the second week and going broke the third week, I’m taking my money and creating generational wealth for my Son Sean. He is the main reason I’m doing this.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about my city brings a smile to face because there are numerous reasons. I’ll shorten it to two by saying that the people are really amazing, and it’s extremely cheap to live here.
