Today we’d like to introduce you to NJoki Woods.
NJoki, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started the business in 2014 after losing someone close to me. I wanted to fill a void so I started selling neckties and bow ties it was short-lived as I found myself doing other things to help me heal. In October of 2019, while sitting in Bougie Girlz Boutique a friend Ried Rich encouraged me to start over. And from there, It took off she places some of my Bow ties in gift bags but gives me the task of figuring out who would get what. Being a person who doesn’t watch much television, I didn’t know who these people were how big they were. Several weeks passed and I started speaking to Parnell Marcano who encouraged me to keep going.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, not at all; there’s been times I wanted to just stop especially when COVID hit. I became distracted and lost confidence that I could actually make this happen. It was Tyrone Dubose who told me to use this time to build and stay focused he said my job is to prepare for when COVID is gone and thing reopened. Financial id spent so much money before COVID helping others. I just didn’t think I could pull it off. On top of that having a disabled son, I had to acclimate to the life with COVID, one more I woke up and made a list of what I would do and a plan with how.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Beau Tie Attraction – what should we know?
Beau Tie Attraction is a handmade custom bowtie business. We add personality to the look of men and women. They give us an idea or occasion we bring it to life; we put it in their neck. We love taking risk of mixing patterns and fabric. We take most pride in hearing the words “I don’t know which one” “wow, I never thought about mixing these” and thats what sets us apart it’s not an easy choice but a must have we don’t make any two alike not even with a matching set.
