Meet Nisha Garigarn of Croissant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nisha Garigarn.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My co-founders and I are a group of friends that wanted a place to get together in Manhattan and work on our projects. We tried to meet up at coffee shops but found that it was a huge struggle to get work done there. We’d show up and there would be no seats, or spotty wifi, no bathrooms, no plugs, etc. We had an idea to make an app that makes it easy to find a place to work in the city, and ended up on the idea of Croissant. We decided to partner with coworking spaces because they already have an inspiring space meant for meeting up and working, and they also had extra seats that weren’t being filled.

We launched with 3 coworking space partners in New York City and have just been growing from there! We now have over 300 coworking space partners in cities around the world. With a Croissant membership, you can use any of the coworking spaces in the network. I spend my time between Los Angeles and New York City and use the membership myself to get work done.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When we were super new, we had a bunch of people asking us for night and weekend access to coworking spaces. At the time, we were partnered with several but it was all daytime access since that was when there was a community manager on site. Finally, we were able to secure a night/weekend partnership with a coworking space. But the caveat was that one of the founders had to cover the front desk for Croissant members who wanted to come by. For several months, the four of us founders would rotate managing the front desk from 5 pm to midnight for Croissant members who wanted night time access.

Croissant – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Croissant is an app that gives you instant access to the best coworking spaces in your city. We currently partner with over 300 coworking spaces in cities like New York City, Berlin, London, Los Angeles, and more. We specialize in giving remote workers flexible access to inspiring workspaces. We are proud of having a super simple membership that gives you the freedom to work when you want, where you want. And we truly believe that the future of work is flexible.
