Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Bridges.
Nikki, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve studied all different Spiritual Practices and Modalities for most of my life, but until 8 years ago, I just thought they were for my own healing, and therapy. It was at that point, through meeting with a Reiki Master, that I realized this was something I was meant to do for others as well… I’ve also been into Natural Skincare and Aromatherapy for as long as I can remember. So, combining the two areas to create my Gem & Flower Essences just seemed like the perfect fit. I’m also able to incorporate the Sound Healing I do for my clients, into the creation of the Essences. It’s a tangible way to share all of Healing Modalities I’ve learned along the way.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like anything creative you have passion for, the journey has not been an easy one. I’ve taken breaks a few times over the last 2 years. But, every time I’m ready to throw in the towel, a client or customer reaches out, to let me know that I have helped them in some way. And, then I’m reminded that I need to keep going. My Healing business has taken a backseat, as I’m looking for a new studio space. But, the essences are still a part of what I’m doing, so I can sell them online, even when I don’t have a physical space. So, that keeps me involved in the process. I used to do Farmer’s Markets and Craft Shows, but it was usually hit or miss… Right now, I’m reconfiguring things to cater to my clientele, instead of the other way around.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Urban-Mysticism – what should we know?
I have a 2 part business. I’m a Reiki Master/ Sound Therapist, and offer Healing Sessions and Coaching. I also have a line of Gem & Flower Aromatherapy Essences.
I am proud of all that I offer, because it’s all connected. The Essences are a tangible form of the Healing I do in my Sessions. I’ve been studying these Modalities most of my life. I’ve also had a pretty tumultuous life, and couldn’t have gotten through most of what I have, if I didn’t have these things to turn to. I believe Spirituality shouldn’t just be for those with money, on the mountaintop. It should be for everyone. So, I try to keep my costs as low as possible, and give away products and healings when I can.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Authenticity, Strength, Perseverance and Heart… And, above all else, Love, Support and Equality for ALL …
