Meet Nikk Legend of The Trade Academy in Hollywood Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikk Legend.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nikk. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in a small agricultural town and had a traditional family. At a young age, I was taught that getting the best education possible would be my key to success and was valedictorian of my graduating class. I did everything I could to be successful and have financial stability. But, one day I overheard my parents talking about their finances. I heard them discuss filing for bankruptcy.

These two moments: graduating as valedictorian and overhearing my parents discuss filing for bankruptcy stuck with me. I promised that I would never want to face that, but I just hadn’t found my calling just yet. It wasn’t until I found out from a buddy of mine in the dorm room next to me that he had made a couple hundred dollars trading currencies online. I was fascinated how he was able to do that from just his computer. It was outside anything I ever thought was possible. I quickly started researching online what currency trading was and started trading myself.

Fast forward to a time when I moved to Miami, Florida where I worked under investment mogul and entrepreneur Grant Cardone who has a $1.2B investment portfolio. I learned so much about business in Miami. But during this time I was also trading currencies on my free time. On my first day at work in Miami, I actually made $1,000 trading currencies the night before. As weeks went by, my earnings in trading currencies were increasing to a point that my profits matched the same amount of my paychecks. Then I knew it was time for me to take a new direction and I moved to San Diego, California.

In San Diego, I launched a company called LimeLight Media where we specialized in online marketing for our clients. Some of our most notable clients include Connor McGregor’s team where we managed online stores. Mainly we helped small business generate profit online. We eventually were bought out and I took a turn into focussing solely on my trading.

When I was in Aruba, over a 48-hour period I generated around $14,000 from just trading currencies on vacation. People were constantly asking me how I got to where I am today. I knew that if I could just inspire in people what I had discovered in that dorm room that day, I could teach the skills of trading currency online. That is when I moved to Hollywood Hills and started The Trade Academy.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting something great is never going to be a smooth road in the beginning, you’ll definitely hit some rough gravel on your way there. But luckily, in the rather early days of The Trade Academy, there was a period when the company went viral and we had over 14,000 students enroll in our online course in 2018. Although this helped us get moving, as weeks went by I noticed the process of creating a sustainable system in teaching these students is something that I’m constantly working on.

Day trading is really like a language so finding the exact system and process to get someone to the point where they’d understand the technical aspects while at the same time develop the proper mindset about online trading is particularly challenging. I find myself re-finding the program to a point where I decided to launch a new version of The Trade Academy in 2020 called “Better Trading.” The best part is that Better Trading will be 100% free. Better Trading will use the experiences of traders who have been trading for 30+ years to offer large portfolios and comprehensive libraries/modules to help create the #1 free resource in the world for people who want to learn the skills of online trading.

I realized how much of a gradient-approach teaching an individual the skills of trading is. Really having the right perspective that this is a long-term business and it isn’t going to be something that changes your financial situation overnight is key. This is something I’m constantly promoting within my academy because it’s that Instagram lifestyle and the people who are in this space that are only showing the glamour and flash. Although a lot of that is attainable through success in online trading, I don’t want my students to be afraid of work because the fact is, a lot of this takes months and for a lot of students this will be the toughest subject they’ve ever studied.

The Trade Academy – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Trade Academy is a service that gives students access to online training modules, lessons, guides, videos, tips, and webinars all designed to help you learn how to trade forex online and generate profits. As CEO of the company, my role is to look at the long term perspective of things and where we can innovate and grow as a company. That is why I’m creating Better Trading, a free and newer alternative to learning how to trade online.

Generally, I saw a huge problem with outlets that teach day trading and I really thought about what it’s like for a new person to study the subject. For a lot of people, looking at graphs and numbers is off-putting and sometimes intimating. One of the things that many of my students believe sets The Trade Academy apart from the others is that we simplify the complexities of trading. Little things like even swapping out advanced investment/trading jargon with more laymen’s terms in the beginning stages went a long way for many of our students. There is a quote that a student read to me that goes something like, “Any darn fool can make something complex; it takes a genius to make something simple.”

At The Trade Academy, we want to be able to bring simplicity to complexity when it comes to learning the tools of online trading. The other thing we do that’s different is that we actually pay students that are already successful in the program to mentor incoming students. This helps students who are just starting out because the advanced students were at one point in their shoes. This also contributes to the family vibe we have at The Trade Academy. You truly want to help others succeed because it’ll only help you grow in the long run.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me is being able to create something that can affect the everyday lives of people. Part of my passion in driving The Trade Academy is that I have students who come up to me tell me how online trading has changed their life. One student in particular who used to work at Taco Bell is now trading every day and generating more profits than he has ever seen before.

I also think one of the most valuable things in life is time. When you realize that our time here isn’t really that long, being able to live your life in an “income on demand” type of way, will fundamentally change your life. Teaching and training students on how to maximize profit every day and getting those results is success to me.
