Meet Nicole Danielle Watts of Nicole Danielle Watts in Santa Clarita

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Danielle Watts .

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been a creative since birth. I was the little girl singing into my hairbrush in the mirror and always performing with my cousins at family gatherings. My mother enrolled me in a community arts school in Philadelphia PA when I was 12 years old called Freedom Theatre. That is where the real magic began. I learned to love myself; my brown skin, my God-given talents and attributes and I fell in love with the stage. I have been in over 100 stage plays and musicals in my lifetime from Master Street Theatre in Philadelphia to The Kennedy Center in Washington DC to The Hudson Theatre on the famous Theatre Row in Hollywood CA. I have also, through the grace of God, raised 4 amazing children and maintained a gifted 25 year career as a Psychotherapist and Clinical Manager. When I relocated to Los Angeles in 2016, it was the reclamation of a lifelong passion that moved me. I wanted to be able to say that I had fully actualized my creative potential AND my ability to create a legacy for my children. It has been a long, tumultuous 4 years but I have no regrets. I am writing these words from a hotel room in Roanoke, VA where I am being lodged for a feature film shoot….my very first Lead role in a major network production. I have a long road ahead but I am so blessed and proud to be a child of God with so many loved ones; friends, family members, colleagues, Sorority sisters and classmates encouraging me and lifting me up.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggles in my life were learning to love myself and learning to depend on my self and God alone. They were huge mountains to climb and I feel that I am finally standing at the top, where I can clearly view all of my mistakes, mishaps and misfortunes. Relocating to LA saved my life. It broke me. It pushed me and I will never be the same because of that decision.

Please tell us about Nicole Danielle Watts .
My brand is my corporation. “Nicole Danielle Watts – The Artist”. I leaned from Allen Levin, Risa Bramon Garcia, Mike Pointer, Saundra Porter Thomas and Brian Daye, most specifically, how to fully embrace and honor my giftings. I have learned how to protect myself and how to create healthy energy, images and boundaries…to allow my gifts to speak boldly and unapologetically. I am on this earth to create and to remain as a light in the dark spaces of this world and I plan to be used for that mission until the day that I die.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One of my favorite memories from childhood is receiving the Best Actress Award at the Bucks County Playhouse Drama competition in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I was in the eighth grade. I played Grace in the musical Annie I starred alongside other talented students from Elkins Park Middle School. I was one of only a handful of African-American students participating in this regional festival and to be acknowledged in that manner was only unprecedented but quite unexpected. When they called my name I cried instantly. I was completely caught off guard. That was the day that I really begin to believe in my talent as an artist. Full circle has been winning Best Actress at the 2019 168 film festival in LA for the Film F8TH.

I look forward to many more successes and many more years of fulfillment, adventure and prosperity!
