Meet Nicole Anderson of Pepper’s Boudoir

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Anderson.

Nicole, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have loved photography all of my life! My grandma always had a camera in our faces and we used to hate it but she always insisted on capturing every little moment of our time together. When she passed away unexpectedly and I began to look through the thousands of photos she had I realized why she took so many. Life could be gone in a moment and photos are the greatest tangible memory! So I began photographing kids and families then in January of 2016, I booked a boudoir weekend in a hotel on a whim and I was smitten. I am absolutely obsessed with boudoir and how it changes a woman’s view of herself or strengthens a couple’s bond. It’s seriously amazing. I used to say that I accidentally found boudoir but I’m starting to think boudoir found me on purpose!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When I first started my business my son was 18 months old and my daughter was a newborn…my husband lost his job unexpectedly and was without stable work for 19 months. I had to adapt, take what I could and there was no time for me to follow my passion, I had to grab every job I could to keep a roof above our heads while dealing with my husband’s depression and raising two small children. It was a lot of tears and panic for sure!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Pepper’s Boudoir – what should we know?
Boudoir is our specialty! We shoot women and couples and we’re known for our experience! I’m so incredibly proud of the team I’ve assembled and their ability to make a woman see how stunning she is by taking what is naturally hers and enhancing it in the most beautiful way! They’re seriously the best! The main thing that sets us apart is that we’re not all business- we take the time to make everyone that comes to us feel like a million bucks! We’re friends, we’re confidants, we’re therapists, we’re empowerment rock stars and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
So many people deserve credit!

My Family- could NOT have done it without their support and babysitting.

My husband- he’s my biggest fan and never lets me settle for 2nd best.

My best friends- which also happen to be my hair and makeup artist for all the late night talks down from the business ledge, the advice, the hard work and more.

Sam – she’s the one that pushed me to charge my worth, did my branding boards and websites and just generally kept me from scaring myself onto the wrong business path!

Every single person that has ever recommended us or referred people to us or spoken highly of us! Every single person that has booked us has a piece of my heart!
