It was also his great pleasure to serve as the elected Graduate Student Association Representative for the entire medical school.
Dr. Ezra then went on to complete an academic internship in Internal Medicine at Indiana University followed by residency training in Dermatology at the Indiana University Medical Centers, where he served as chief resident. During residency, Dr. Ezra completed advanced training in Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology under the direction of international leaders in the field. He continued to pursue biomedical research and was the recipient of the Edward L. Keyes Resident Award for Outstanding Research presented in Athens, Greece. He was also the recipient of the North American Hair Research Society (NAHRS) Mentorship Grant, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) Annual Conference Best Resident Award, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society Mentorship Award. Following his move back to California, Dr. Ezra was recruited to join the clinical faculty at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he enjoys the academic training of residents and medical students through the preceptorship program. He has been recognized as one of America’s Top Dermatologists 2016 by Consumers’ Research Council of America.
Dr. Ezra founded California Dermatology Institute to serve as a center of excellence in the areas of general medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He enjoys all aspects of dermatology, including medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, surgical dermatology, and laser dermatology. His particular interests include acne, Accutane treatment, psoriasis, rosacea, Botox, Restylane, Juvederm, Mohs surgery, and laser dermatology. He is very proud to be able to offer all of these services at all California Dermatology Institute locations.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Along the way, Dr. Ezra was faced with the choice to stay in one area or to branch out and provide care for multiple communities. He decided to start locations of California Dermatology Institute in five locations throughout Southern California.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I believe everything happens for a reason, and I wouldn’t be where I am today if anything happened differently. I am truly blessed and wouldn’t change anything about my past.
