Meet Nathan Wolf of Ace of Fades LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Wolf.

Nathan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My name is Nathan Wolf and I am 24 years old. I’m from Cleveland, Ohio and have been in the hair industry for 5 years now. I started out cutting in Cleveland as a young white barber and many people wouldn’t give me a shot. I worked my way to one of the top shops in Cleveland (West Park Barber Shop) and ended up making the move to Los Angeles shortly after.

Since moving to LA I’ve had the opportunity to work with many of the top barbers/stylists in the hair field today. Some including Jason Schneidman (themensgroomer), Carlos Ramos (sugar skulls), Josh Lamonaca, and many more.

I have been lucky enough to build a great clientele out in LA and have been given opportunities to work with many companies such as Redbull, Warner Bros, Combs Enterprises, the NBA, and many more. I have recently moved into the education field of the hair industry and I am looking forward to the many more opportunities to come.

Has it been a smooth road?
Its been a tough road for me to get where I am today. Having to rebuild clienteles and rebuild peoples trust. Making the move across the country with just my clippers. Luckily I was hired at a great shop and am blessed that Ace gave me a shot at his shop.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Ace of Fades LA story. Tell us more about the business.
Ace of Fades is a top barber shop in the Los Angeles area. We specialize in men’s haircuts and styles. We are an East Coast style barber shop on the West Coast. What sets me apart is being very versatile. I can cut any type of hair, any style, and any length. From fades to scissor cuts. Also, being in the education field and being able to share my story and skills with barbers all across the country.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Our Field is bigger than ever right now and it’s only going to keep growing. There are always changes in the hair industry. With social media being so big now it’s easy to keep up to date with all of the new trends and new styles. As long as we continue to keep ourselves educated we won’t get left behind.
