Meet Natasha Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Jones.

Hi Natasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a content creator and freelance curve model. I started off “influencing” by posting selfies on my Instagram. I never thought of becoming an influencer/model. I studied media communications and human biology throughout college hoping to have a career in either of those fields. In 2019, I had my first professional shoot. I did it with friends and for fun not expecting that a year later I would be modeling. When the pandemic hit, I lost my job and became more active on Instagram to past the time. Brands started reaching out one after the other and I became a full-time content creator.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Modeling hasn’t always come easy. I used to be self-conscious on camera and very judgmental. Learning how to be comfortable with my body on camera has been a struggle. When I was younger, I suffered from an eating disorder all throughout high school and some college. When you’re taking photos, it can be scary because your biggest insecurity is going to be shown to the public and shared with thousands of people. But practices make perfect! I am super comfortable on camera now and have found confidence in front of the camera that I don’t think I would have if it wasn’t for modeling.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a full-time content creator. My platform is mainly about fashion, body acceptance and celebrating women. I am proud of the community I have built on my platform. What sets me apart from others is that I always try to be 100% real with my audience. I want them to know that I’m not perfect and I definitely have days where I’m just sad. But I’m always looking ahead. If I’m known for anything at all, I hope it’s for spreading positivity, love and kindness.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One should strive to love themselves fully. Love the good and bad parts of yourself. I follow so many beautiful woman who have inspired me to look deeper into myself. Influencers aren’t just pretty photos online. They’re real people who can inspire others to look at themselves. I am so proud of how far I’ve come throughout the years. I thought I had gotten past my trauma and body dysmorphia years ago but it wasn’t until I started this influencing journey that I learned I had barely touched the surface of it. I can proudly and honestly say that I love the skin I’m in. Of course, I still have those days where I can nitpick at everything about my body, but I am unlearning those things daily and I’m very grateful.
