Meet Natalie Bloom of The Peony Collective

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Bloom.

Natalie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated high school almost two years early and jumped straight into nursing school. After working as a nurse for a year (and hating every second of it) I decided to quit and travel Europe for a few months to see if an adventure would spark a new journey for me.

After I returned from Europe, it hit me that I was jobless, clueless as to what field I wanted to be in, and down a lot of money after all my traveling. I got a job as a nanny and figured I would look for a new career while making money babysitting. At that job, I met my now boyfriend, who works in digital marketing.

Knowing absolutely nothing about marketing and wanting to bond with my new babe, I started asking a lot of questions as to what his job entailed. After already being a lifestyle blogger/influencer for three years I semi knew what social media marketing entailed, but I was eager to learn a lot more. Fast forward six months later and I am running my own social media marketing agency and blogging full time.

Adam (my boyfriend) and I were driving and chatting about the “struggles” of becoming a full time and paid blogger/influencer and out of nowhere it hit me- I wanted to create a place for creatives to meet, learn, and grow their online presence into an empire.

And thus, The Peony Collective was born! It’s been quite the journey-with more bumps than I expected, but a fun one none the less.

Watching my business baby come to life has been such an amazing experience.

Has it been a smooth road?
I’ll admit, I was totally blind to how difficult starting your own business is. There have been many days where I just sat in my bed and cried because deadlines weren’t met, things felt unorganized, and I had no one to help!

Starting your own bussiness takes a lot of patience, organization, and flexibility. If you can nail those things- you’re golden.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Peony Collective story. Tell us more about the business.
The Peony Collective is a community for female bloggers and influencers who want to turn their love of content creation into a career.

Through The Peony Collective, our #CeosOfGirlBossShit will get to meet new and like-minded people, learn tons about the industry, and gain access to all of our special features, including a list of photographers willing to collab in your area & the best (nonbasic) insta spots near you!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Since social media is constantly progressing at lightning speed, I can’t even imagine where we will be in 10 years. I do think digital marketing will finally surpass traditional marketing as the best way to reach a mass audience.

Aside from that, I think bloggers and influencers will become the cheapest and most useful way to promote businesses trying to grow.
