Meet Nana Scott

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nana Scott.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nana. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Some of us were lucky enough to “just know.” Growing up in a home full of nurses, I was ten years old when I decided fashion was going to be my thing. I graduated high school and ran off to LA for college. It wasn’t easy leaving family and friends behind, but I knew exactly what I wanted and stepping out of the nest was necessary.

While in school I began interning for celebrity stylist – Stackz – some months later I was working for Ade Samuel – who was big Sean’s stylist at that time. I was fed with so much knowledge that I started to build my portfolio hoping to build a clientele of my own. At 20 years old, I wasn’t used to the industry, and the amount of “no’s” given out daily haha, but I kept reaching out to my favorite celebrities, influencers, and artists for the chance to work with them.

With no intentions of giving up, I got exactly what I wanted. I’ve styled for Photoshoots, Music Video, E-commerce and so much more. I’ve decided to create a lane for myself and will continue to work my a** off to get everything I deserve in this world. Some of us were lucky enough to “just know.”

Has it been a smooth road?
Smooth? Hahaha! Nothing good will EVER come smoothly, and it’s still difficult today because with every level brings a new devil.

Lack of confidence will destroy every dream, and I dealt with it for so long until I got fed up with the voices telling me I wasn’t good enough and started showing my worth.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I’m a freelance stylist working between Los Angeles and New York City. Between agencies, internships, industry experience and education in Fashion Marketing I received the necessary qualifications to start my own styling business.

My goal is to provide confidence to my clients and to refine their personal style while instilling valuable styling tips. Styling services are available to both men and women.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
LA is for creative minds; it’s definitely the place to be!
