Today we’d like to introduce you to Meko Williams.
Meko, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a Los Angeles, California native with an (IT), Information Technology and Radio Broadcasting background. I’m the founder and creator of Meko Williams Entertainment established in 2010. My first on-air special guest appearance after recurring co-host features was on the Sunset & Gumbo Productions and 102.5 FM Urban Soul.
To expand my portfolio, I later joined KLIQ 1670 AM, producing three shows titled “Meko Williams Show,” “Real Talk with Meko Williams” and “Sista Truth.” Showcasing Live celebrity interviews which were the featured segment of my program. Meko Williams Entertainment provided services for hosting, broadcasting online and terrestrial radio for various clients.
In 2013, Meko Williams Entertainment expanded towards pre and post-production video placement through many of the most popular social media platforms and apps. Meko Williams Entertainment soon became MWENT Productions and sought to expand its outreach and was referred to Pax Stereo Tv, an Interactive Video Streaming, Broadcasting & Media Production Company in Los Angeles, California. A cooperative alliance was formed as Mwent Productions, Meko Williams served as live co-host and social media coördinator for Pax Stereo TV. Also, Providing services to the Bridal Expo, Corie Williams Scholarship Fund and Century City News. MWENT Productions co-produced in conjunction with Pax Stereo Tv are Bump it or Junk it, the DJ Meko Show and current reality unscripted live iVictor Meko’s Challenge Show. The partnership has resulted in content placed on IMDB movie database, Amazon Prime as of 2018 and Roku. More Roku channels are in development. MWENT Productions continues to expand in various areas of media, broadcasting networks and soon to be mentorship programs.
Has it been a smooth road?
No! It has not been a smooth road.
One of the major obstacles I experience as a woman in the expanding entertainment industry being objectified more so than focus on my direct experience and talent. My challenges are working a full-time job, running my business, juggling multiple responsibilities and demands. With daily operations, I’m reminded of key factors, a good support team and mentors to aid in my business practice.
I doubt my capabilities and feel overwhelmed through the growing pains of operating a business. But, I’ve always aired to the side not to focus on the obstacles rather persevere, push towards greater success and goals I set for myself. I’ve met wonderful and lucrative people who remind me to always keep in mind the reason I started and what keeps me going.
